you can code a script to keep an eye on programs' sites/domains - whenever page content changes or domain whois dns or other records change it would notify you and or your subscribers, could run as a service or stand alone script ;)

No you're wrong. Everything's fine and sales are growing.

I heard it straight from the horses mouth DamianJ said Epoch told him their sales are growing.

Of course Damian wouldn't lie would he.

He's not the only one, others are telling me all the time things are good.

It costs little to keep a site or program going. What do you think they have left?

What we need Zorg is more Tube sites and more auto submitters for Tube sites. That will solve the problem. More traffic. LOL

SOLUTION to keep better track of dead/redirected sites:

put this script in cron and execute daily.
if you have already existing DB of sites you promote just query domains from there or import them to this script.
someone who does coding could make stand alone script and sell it or make paid or free service, add to webmaster resource, w/e. If it's such a big issue to check programs urls constantly this could be in demand or keep complaining on gfy.

I remember the owner saying he wanted to sell it, I guess the signups sucked. Personally I never did well with his sites.

holograph, I have all my links built into my TALS database, so easy to change them and redirect to other places, but some reason a few of my links get into yahoo/google directly so it's instant traffic and I can't stop or redirect it.

Or just use a software like Nifty Stats to track your stats and if it's not loaded then it's time to check whats up with the affiliate program ;)

Homegrown Video, longevity through solid business practices

We do offer this on our program. But considering our track record for actually staying in business and delivering a quality product most webmasters will never need to use it. Still, it is the thought that counts and we certainly agree that it is a great option to have in case webmasters want and need it.

I have watched so many programs come and go over the years that I am never ever surprised any more. Usually you can spot the ones ripest for their reckoning well before the event actually occurs. The more surprising thing to me is how little affiliates do to actually learn about the program through due diligence first. Seems like far less of an effort is needed for that than all the effort that will go into setting up then having to change things when the program implodes. It seems like all these fly-by-nights have to do is throw up a few pix, get signups, collect people's cash, and finally burn everyone time and time again.
