Good entry level camera?
I started in photography in high school decades ago, developed my own black and white film, then color. I've had a Canon AV1 and a Canon A1. I started with a pentax.
I had a Sony Mavica for a few year, the one with the mini cd in it, but the reader went tits up, so I'm in the mind of getting a new Camera, something that I can have fun with, do some outside shots of Briana with, take pics at conventions. I have a lot of respect for Canon, Sony and Nikon. So what do you think I should get and where should I buy it? Thanx

Canon T3i with the stock 18-55 lens and pick up one of those $120 50mm lens... cheap but great quality! I'd also get a Speedlite 430EX II or 580 if you can afford it, and learn how to bounce the flash!

More than enough for what you are looking for and withing your budget best of luck! |

Just got a new Canon 60D for my birthday. I had a 50D but wanted to be able to do video.
The t3i is a nice camera too. Just a slight step down from the 60D. |

i say get the used t1i for 475 or whatever it was i initially posted and but an l lens. the differences between the t1i, the t2i and the t3i are minimal. just because there are newer versions doesn't mean you need the newest one especially when chances are you'll grow out of it and maybe look for a full frame camera later. No reason to spend 900 bucks when you can get pretty much the same thing for 475. I would invest more in the lens since these cameras were talking about are aps-c and not full frame (35mm) sensors. Your overall image is going to very greatly on the lens then between these 3 bodies.
here is some more info on that digital sensor sizes and what it means to you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APS-C |
