new, the cam is like 800 bucks and the lens is 1400 bucks.
this setup will have you taking pro shots while sticking to your budget.
you can always rent cameras as well but thats a pretty good deal on a mint cond luxury glass with built in image stabilization which is goood for someone starting out or restarting =D.

i bought my first cam, a 40d and a lens i forgot which one i got from these guys and both were in pristine condition the rating wasnt even mint.

you can buy a year warranty on anything you buy for cheap.
