That 99 dollar deal posted above is pretty sweet.

In the past, used Lr more, lately I skip it and just bring the raws into ps5 via bridge but I probably don't to incorporate some of the modules you may want to use. My photography is mostly for my mainstream work, pretty much working on product shots, modifying the ones I need and dumping or saving on a hd as needed or personal stuff, at most maybe a couple hundred shots at a time.

To be honest, I have no experience with acdsee.

Another, slightly more expensive option would be Capture One Pro by Phase One. A couple of well known photogs, non adult use it including Russel James who does a lot of the Victoria Secret Angel shoots. I have the software and like it as well but I barely used it much since I prefer playing with the raw files and having them open in ps and have so far been happy with the end result. It's probably a mix of laziness and not having as much monitor space as I would prefer lol.

Short clip on exposure with phase one

If you haven't already (i'm sure you have), they each have a trial, I say install all three, the play with a few images and see which one you can work the best/feels the most comfortable. Some prefer, for example, the end result with capture one color wise, but feel the layout is more minimalistic or limited.

Best of luck, be sure to post which one you end up getting.

That's pretty funny as that is also exactly what I use. I still have the install disc that came with like an HP 318 digital camera which has that ACD version on it. Anybody tries to take that disc from me and I'll string'em up!

Best photoediting program around for quick and easy stuff!

Old one is small and fast. Gets the job done (viewing photos)

New ones are too cumbersome.

I don't use Lightroom but from what I understand, it's strength is in it's database. Shooters who do little to no retouching mainly use Lightroom because it does processing but also allows photogs to label pics with keywords (metadata) which allows for easy storage and retrieval. It also allows for some basic image correction but nothing like Photoshop.

acdsee for sure. It runs way lighter on my machine and it's awesome they make it for mac now, I just hope they get it to the same level as it is for windows.

Exactly how I use it.

Its a fast solution for processing multiple raw pic sets. If I need to fix anything in particular or need to do something beyond Light-rooms capabilities, I pull out the PhotoShop.

Lightroom is superior to other software for data, white balance and exposure.

I've tried Lightroom, and have the latest version, but it just annoys me. I'm a longtime PS user and am just used to either running batches, or retouching individual images in PS, so only rarely use LR.
