I stick with good 'ole failthful -- HomeSite v5. Been using it for about almost a decade now, and still love it. That was before Adobe bought out Macromedia, and before Adode discontinued the product.
http://www.adobe.com/products/homesite/ Still available on torrents though! PS. People who use things like Dreamweaver and call themselves web designers piss me off. And they probably piss of web designers even more.

lol, I like Dreamweaver, because you can write your code on the left, and see what it looks like in Live View at the same time on the right. Also like the way that it groups other pages that are referenced as includes instead of having to open several sites. It's handy. Sorry that "pisses you off"... but oh fuckin' well lol
I like Notepad++ too though, also for testing of apps without having to constantly upload/download, you can check out some WAMP's if you haven't already. I've been using EasyPHP, but looking in to some others. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_WAMPs

I use Homesite 5.5 and sometimes notepad. Started with publisher.
Have Dreamweaver and Frontpage. Never use them. Didn't know Homesite was discontinued. Is there a replacement for this wonderful piece of software? |

Nothing. It works fine however I have a client who is no Adult and needing something more professional looking then what I do. I like the WYSIWYG editors and seeking new ways to build pages and seeing what else people are using.

![]() Yeah, me too. Hey, maybe I should try Dream Weaver/etc... Maybe it has special functions that cause me to make the best designs ever. I'm not believing it as I say it; but the fact is that I don't actually know all that DW does. |

Yep. The overcomplicated piece of shit they call Dreamweaver. HomeSite is still available on torrents though. I bought my copy already, but wasn't able to download it again from Adobe, so don't feel bad about getting it off the torrents.

i did and its a big pain in the ass. Every page you wanna edit you have to ad javascript to the source of the page. Would be much better if it would be a plugin.

I recently upgraded to cs5.
I've 'always' been using Photoshop, Dreamweaver since v3 or 4. BUT, lately I've noticed that I'm always opening php's and css-files in EditPad. I don't know why, but it seems to me that I do prefer it that way. (One reason might be the loading time, opening a php in Editpad is instant, dreamweaver has this timeconsuming startup routine.) And even more; I'm really into Photoshop, but I keep getting this feeling that photoshop and web-graphics are kinda overkill. So I've just bought a Fireworks-course of lynda.com.... So why did I upgrade? Softwaromaina maybe? Expensive illness. (English is not my native language, please direct me towards a more correct term thant softwaromania, if it exists... )Jolly
