hello everyone. finally i got some time so i will be doing what i wanted for some time, do some shaving tests. i will be doing it in next month or so, for few times, with some sponsors, and i will be publishing the results here on gfy. now, anyone know what do i need to prove that sponsor shave? is some transaction number and zero sales in my stats enough? thank you much in advance for any answers and wish you best with your business everyone

If the login works, no errors happened, the sale should post to your stats... it may take a minute, often 15 minutes or even the next day to show up, depending on processor and program - but either way, if you can login the sale is valid, you should get credit for sale or you got shaved.

I will say... I don't think you'll find a single program shaving. If you do, it will be a company with custom software, coders & admins on staff, ect.

The main bulk of programs, hell almost all of them, don't have someone on staff with the technical ability to create a basic html contact form, let alone a shaver. This is why most programs have so many stupid errors, from simple broken links to videos they can't fix, to login issues they don't truly understand.

Not to knock anyone, but this is like 99% of the programs - don't get me wrong, I love'em.... it keeps me in business.

Use something like strongvpn so that you have different ip addresses that come up as diff countries. Sponsors with PPS tend to track ips of webmasters vs the surfers to prevent affiliate fraud. Clear cookies and change ip for each test.

I'd be careful in drawing the conclusion that they shave, however its perfectly valid and IMO no chance of being sued for relating your experience with programs that received sales but that did not track "for whatever technical reason"

few years back I had a sponsor put some AdWords conversion codes on their site for me. I was doing a good amount of biz and they helped me out... low and behold, I was seeing 25% to 50% LESS sales then conversions. After I bought this up, the codes were removed

There are different ways to effectively "shave" such as making the cookie last an hour, making the cookie system treat www.site.com and site.com as separate on purpose, making certain links drop or overwrite affiliate codes. Anyone who has been an affiliate in the business for any time has seen this. Sometimes it really is an accident but I think it would be incredibly naive to say that it always has been done by accident rather than calculated design.

I've worked with so many programs that have had errors like this and I've made the errors myself.

I've honestly never met someone that wasn't crazy happy to be told about errors, the proper way to do things, and why it will benefit them if they question it.

Every program has errors, even my clients that I've gone over and now they go over, they still find errors - and they always will. Everyone has errors!

If you tell people about them - they will fix them!

I'm not saying some people wont screw you over any chance they get, any way they can... but a person like this isn't only stealing some cookies, changing some aff links, that person is screwing surfers over, you over, and soon others. You probably aren't getting sales with people like this with the way the Industry is today, most of us probably don't do business with them which is why they do such shady crap..

How many super major traffic trade scammers really hold on for long and build crazy huge sites, that hold, ect? If it has happened, it's 1 person, and they cleaned up. The bottom feeders are at the bottom for a reason.

A program screwing affiliates over, doesn't get affiliate traffic, it doesn't get sales enough for 99.9% of us to even look at, and that micro few of us that hunt programs, can spot stains like this within seconds.

Shaving is shooting yourself in the foot, it's short term gain but long term loss. When an affiliate starts promoting you it's your chance to show you convert, there are plenty more sponsors to choose from and if they convert better we'll promote them. If anything when a decent affiliate starts promoting a sponsor, it's in the sponsor's best interest to throw in some bonus sales to help convince the affiliate they can be good long term partners.

I've been sending ALOT of affiliate sales to tons of programs over the last 7 years or so.. many times I have suspected programs for shaving me - and I've shave tested them over and over again.

You know what, I have never, EVER found one who really did shave..

Shaving is beyond stupid.. only an idiot would even consider shaving anyone for any sales as it is so freaky short term thinking..

Anyhow.. I do suspect that some of the program who credit PPS sales when people chargeback/ask for a refund abuses this to shave sales without you can do anything about..

My advice is to let them know after the test is done unless you want to get on black lists across the board...

thank you glen. everything tooks me so long cause i want to have stats for longer period, not only short time. i am making three signups to sponsor, if there are problems, i ask them after first problem what is up, after second problem sent them that still problem, after third problem i will publish it here on gfy, and first results will come really soon. i am using different ip adresses and different credit cards. if sponsor do not count some sales, i do not care what his excelent explanation to me is, i care about that sales are not counted and i want them to answer it to everyone, to every affiliate who wants to know the answer. so, banning across the board, you mean cause i will say that someone is shaving? well, everyone can make his own decission, if someone shave, he will ban me sure, then he will be welcomed on my list ... just wanted to say, results coming really soon, when i am back in czech republic

I really doubt you will find one shaving joins these days. IF someone is shaving it would not be on the direct sale as there are tons of other (less obvious) ways to do so.

if you think thats the only way we check for fraud then you are a fool... and no sponsor pays out for test sales so if you don't tell them after the test you will get black listed by the processors first, just as well as any program so if you want to play that game see how well that works out for you...
