Dont get me wrong I dont pull on a pair of sandals and sit on my desk to think like Jobs or The Woz but for video and photography the mac saves a ton of time.

I totally get your VW analogy, but the difference with Macs is that the processor is totally integrated with the software, so once you dial it all in, it purrs like a Porche (and I'm not talking about the 914 with the Karmann Ghia V-dub engine - strictly Carrera)
