I need some wisdom teeth removed, but I've read about how a nerve in your jaw can be damaged and you lose feeling in part of your face.

I need some wisdom teeth removed, but I've read about how a nerve in your jaw can be damaged and you lose feeling in part of your face.

Read up some more about it. My first consultation scared me about that nerve, too. But apparently even if the nerve is close enough to get nicked, you just get some numbness and tingling until the nerve heals itself. No motor control loss or anything.

I didn't keep the teeth. The top ones came out intact, but the bottom ones got shattered by the drill and pulled out in pieces, which I did not ask for.
