I honestly would anticipate getting thousands of visitors a day based on what Im getting now using Roboscripts... but could I run a few of these getting a few hundred hits on a basic hosting plan?

I've been with MojoHost for 4+ years. Too bad I waited so long.

They are the most Adult friendly provider in the industry. You don't have to worry about your adult domains or links. They host lots of Cam sites.

Also, they do Domain registrations/transfers/renewals. SO you don't have to be shy about naughty Domain names.

They recently built a new Hub, with increased bandwidth. My scripts run at incredible speeds.

They do "White Glove" transfers of data from your current host to your new account with them. Including SQL.

I deleted my Roboscripts a couple of months ago.

It'll run on anything really as there aren't alot of specific dependancies, the main criteria is that you have to be able to run a cron every few minutes to collect the data. If you can run a cron on hostgator shared, you should be able to run it BUT that said I think you will hit resource caps when the database gets fairly large so it would maybe only be suitable for a narrow niche site where the db won't be big where you are specifying a model whitelist. I think you are better off getting a VPS and running more sites out of that then multiple shared hostings.

Im thinking of getting rid of all those cam sites, and switching everything over to Mechbunny. Because that server should be enough resources for plenty of sites.

Yes, you are right.
wp-script's cam script or wplivecam will kill any powerful server.
It overloads MySQL process on the server due to bad coding.
It is for years and nothing gonna to fix that.

It is useless script, if you bought it by Paypal and still in the 180 days buyers protection - open the case and get you money back.

Naw paypal lets the buyer win in every case when it's an intangible asset. We got scammed a couple of times over the years and stopped accepting paypal because of it. Stripe has been great and much cheaper.

It is better to go into contact and ask for refund in a friendly way.
And later it can be a good proof if the seller ignores you or refuses to refund payment of non-working product.

Like, a simple 2GB/4GB Ram cPanel VPS usually wouldn't have any issues serving a website to a couple of million unique visitors a month (assuming code, static content etc is optimized and all).

You didn't literally install the exact same WP script multiple times on multiple domains, right? Therefore, basically have your server run and update multiple duplicates of the same large database simultaneously through multiple cronjobs (all pulling the same data) every x minutes?

You can only withdrawal to either a US-based USD account, or a bank account in your own country in your own currency and they auto-convert to it at their own spread so basically I was in a situation where I was forced to withdrawal into PLN at like a 5% or 7% spread. I was paying 11% at some point after their service fees. With stripe i'm paying like 2% or something and get bank transfers paying out in euros (which is what we bill in since it's more stable then the USD/PLN pair)

We had to remove our WPLivecam installs because of the database issues. Roboscripts was always better as it didn't try to put all the performers info into a single huge database table.

But even Roboscripts uses far too many server resources. CPU and resource usage with these scripts is a real concern.

Ughhhh ... I hate to say it.. but thats exactly what we did. Only followed the instructions and installed it for each domain. Feel pretty stupid not having thought of that. Only makes sense.

If you are referring to me - First off I am not the owner of Roboscripts so I am not the "previous owner" of anything related to roboscripts. We wrote an alternative, not took over his project. Secondly, I am not a single freelance developer - we have a physical office and actual staff many of which have worked with me for 10+ years. Third, I have worked in adult as a developer for almost 20 years now so I'm not likely to go anywhere. It's basically my life's work. Should something happen to me like an accident, we have a "line of succession" in the company.

The concept of key generation is not new - it's to slow down piracy. This is even more important in our industry where there isn't a huge target audience. We will not sell tens of thousands of copies of this. If you do not like this concept, then you are free to use other software but most companies do this or something similar.

All that said, even in some hypothetical case where we vanish overnight like Nick, the script continues to function as normal. People are still running roboscripts and still making money with it.

Sounds like maybe whatever cron script that runs to update them isn't running and the site isn't updating live performers?
