Am I the only one who hates windows 7?

I cant stand it. I LOVED XP. Hated Vista, and now hate 7.

What I love about Vista is that its so easy to use and user friendly. I was very happy with it.
Its easy to find files, sale files exactly where you want them. With 7 everything is so tiny and theres a million directories. I cant just save shit where I want without spending time trying to find the right folders. its frustrating. And the move the Show Desktop button to the right, and its not movable. They obviously dont care about their customers for them to do something like that

Really I would stay with xp but it cant handle larger memory, so I cant use xp anymore.

Im seriously considering just switching over to a mac andd saying fuck it all. Im so sick of Microsoft for the past 5 years

Takes about 4 mins of time on a google search, and 3 mins of time on win 7 to modify it how you want it to be. You are in the slim minority for sure.

Same here, I loved Windows 2000, XP was great too. Once they came out with Vista I said goodbye to Microsoft and started using Ubuntu for everything but video editing and got a Mac for video stuff...

Tried Windows 7 on a new laptop and it blows chunks

i hate windows 7 because even with latest nvidia and chipset drivers, i still get these laggy trails behind windows when i move them around.. needless to say this is NEVER an issue with ubuntu, or vista.. which is what i dont understand, i should be able to use vista drivers and not have this issue, but i do with everything i have tried. lame as fuck.. also the drivers for my audio device blow donkey balls, my laptop is so quiet now it's lame.

Takes about 2 seconds to change those things.

Also xp64 has tons of driver issues you are going to run into.

as someone who's had win 7 since the early beta and have reviewed it, try running win 7 64 bit and check the performance out. much faster as long as your system can support it. Finding files/folders is a windows thing. 95% love it, small majority hate it.

Same, I loved windows 2000. Love every version of windows until Vista came along, and Windows 7 goes down the same bad track.

I really cant imagine companies switching over to windows 7 and office workers trying to be productive with it. Im not nearly as poductive with it as I was with XP

They should have just taken XP and made it better and faster, not given it a whole different feel with 7.

for saving shit in tiny folders - try the recent locations tab in your save dialog, very handy.

btw did anyone figure out how to minimize the damn windowsLive messenger to system tray only, like it used to be possible on previous versions? I hate the fact it takes up space on taskbar, instead of sitting next to icq and Gtalk..

Microsoft has to keep reinventing the wheel every 3-5 years because they are in the business of selling software. It's a lot easier to convince people to pay hundreds of dollars to upgrade to the new thing if it feels significantly 'different' from before. It's just clever marketing and you are the loser in the game.

On the flip side you have the apple people, who nobody can argue offer the best customer experience, they make their money selling the hardware, so every operating system release is optimised, quicker, leaner and the extra features are thoughtfully meshed into an already brilliant user interface. Operating system upgrades range from $29-$99 and come with a range of brilliant, easy to use software included.

Whats wrong with simple? Simple means you get work done quicker and waste less of your time being a cog in the microsoft money making machine

lol on hardware, huh??

http://www.apple.com/imac/features.html

The 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac models offer fast Intel Core 2 Duo processors up to 3.33GHz. Quad-core power comes to the 27-inch iMac with a 2.66GHz Intel Core i5 processor or 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 processor.

along with ATI and Nvidia graphics, i would say they are using very similar hardware..

3 minutes after installing windows 7, I had it set to the classic look, quicklaunch bar back, etc.

The discomfort of the upgrade lasted about.. 10 seconds.

There are *more* "convenient" folders? Those things are so aggravating. It's bad enough whenever I click "open" in a program Vista takes me to "My Documents" instead of the last opened location. The last place I save stuff is in a /windows/ path folder like Desktop or My Docs. All those My Music and My Pictures ad nauseum are so annoying

I also hate because Show Desktop button is on right, all big games can't play on W7 and sometime don't want to detect second monitor until restart.

Vista is better until SP! don't come for W7, but XP realy sucks

Not detecting second monitor would be a "DRIVER" issue, not a win 7 issue. Works 100% perfect for me with 2 montiors. What games won't play on win 7?

I'm a huge XP fan, and I am loving Windows 7.

I don't have any issues with ghosting and lag and other crap. I'm running an nVidia 9800 GTX+ on my gaming rig and an onboard nVidia chipset on my HTPC, so I'm going to have to assume bbwdollars problems aren't related to Win7, but his card/system/drivers/evil voodoo curse.

I have never been a first out of the box OS guy, and don't touch them until SP1, but I was fucking around with the 7 beta and found it a vast improvement over that train wreck they called Vista.
