Cleaning your mouse

I thought my mouse was a piece of shit.. then I took it apart and cleaned it real good with a q-tip and now this motherfuckers gliding around like an optical mouse.. it's like brand new again..

All these months of dealing with this piece of shit being all choppy.. and all it took was 10 minutes worth of cleaning.

edit: THANK YOU VERY MUCH LIGHTNING FOR DONATING $25 TOWARDS ME GETTING A REAL MOUSE

My left button on my Logitec stated messing up... So I got my 1 on my Microsoft 1's out.... I really like the scroll wheel on the Logitec so I took it apart switched the little switches put the left 1 under the scroll wheel (which I don't use to click with).. 3 stores and couldn't find 1 that had the feel of the Logitec wheel... So I fixed the dam thing.

I have maybe 6 keyboards kicking around ... and one that happens to be my absolute favorite is believe it or not a COMPAQ ...

The keys are all in the correct places (I love KEYTRONIC keyboards' feel ... but cannot stand the single width delete key with the backslash beside it ... every time I go to delete something, I add backslashes to it !!

Anyways ... this old COMPAQ keboard was my favorite one I've owned yet, but was dirty as hell both under the keys as well as the sides of the keys were caked with crud ! (yeah insert stupid jokes here ...)

I considered just going to best buy and buying a new Logitech Navigator for $25 ... but was in an ambitious mood, so I took off ALL the keys from this keyboard, used a couple dozen Q-tips and some windex ... and cleaned the entire board and all the keys ... dried them all off, and reassembled it ... it took me maybe an hour ... but it looks and feels like brand new again !!!

I guess I'll have to wait another 6 months for a new Logitech Navigator ... maybe by then they will have better toys for a good price ...

(just a follow up .... 2 months ago I bought a keyboard online that somebody posted here that had a touchscreen under the space bar .... it took FOREVER to get here ... and I used it for maybe 5 days but did not like it, so I sent it back ...)

LIGHTNING

For $25 he gets a good guy rep. Wheap and worth every penny.

Is an optical mouse one of those cordless ones? Just kitted out the new office and we all have them, AWESOME except the batteries do not last that long.

LOL! Mine might as well have the cord glued in - the rechargeable batteries supplied with it are shite!

I used to hate optical mice until I got a logitec one. The M$ ones just felt too big for my hand, but these ones sit just right.

My fave mouse of all time though is still a old fashioned ball one - Logitec Wheelman + - best mouse of all bloody time.

Actually a funn thing is, a friend of mine bought a MS mouse a while back, regular with a mouseball. I should point out that this guy is a supposed PC Technician, A+ certified, MCSE, all that crap. After a few months, it was choppy and he was freaking out. He had an extended warranty on it with the store (Future Shop) so he brought it back and complained. They didn't have that mouse, so they gave him an optical mouse. He's all happy and I asked him "Wow, even after you cleaned the mouse it was still choppy?" and he goes "You can clean a mouse?"

I laughed so damn hard that the store tech didn't even think of checking that.

Btw, Lightning, you now have good karma vibe. Can oyu paypal me some $$$ for a new Toshiba laptop?

Logitech Trackman Vista here, unbelieveable what I have done to it over the years to keep it working, but I would not use a mouse again to save my life . . . . . well, maybe to save my life, but that would be it
