Getting back into the swing after time off work
I have had 10 days off and I am spending most of the day getting back into the swing of things. I have a few thousand emails to search through and pick out the ones that aren't spam. Then there are icq messages to answer. Then I can get back to the day to day of work and site building and promotion.
Is there anything you do to help yourself get back into the swing when you have had some time off? |

Back to the office today and then off tomorrow. I'm gonna go for a jog right now to start working off the extra food I ate.

I took Christmas day and Boxing day completely off. I'm not taking anymore time off. New Year isn't as special as Christmas in my book, so I put in a few hours extra workfor the last three days which means I only need to spend about 2 hours on the computer Tuesday and Wednesday. Maybe none at all on Wednesday since its the biggest Soccer Match of the year in Scotland and I have my ticket to be there!
Best thing I find to get into work after time off is to take things as they come, don't plan out too much... let your brain adjust back to your working environment. Expect today to be your longest day tho, but then you kick into automatic mode and you should be ok.. at least thats how I work ![]() |

I don't really get the chance to stay away, that's very rare.
But music always helps me. A lot. |

Wondered why I had not seen any posts from you Sarah, welcome back!
![]() As for me, I work from home. Working at home = living at work! But I did manage to leave the lapstop switched off on Christmas Day itself... |

Yeah, I would normally be like that too. However, my Birthday and Christmas was all in the same week and I had to travel to where I was spending Christmas day and Boxing Day. So, I took some time off. Now, I can continue molding the seat of my office chair to perfectly fit my ass.

Just get through the extra workload asap. If that means sleeping at work then do it.

I very often tell people that are all envious of working from home that I also live at work. Which is why I had to go to somebody else's house to stop myself from working on my time off.

I made a list of all the things I needed to do. Reply to ICQ messages, emails, site checks all the good stuff. Then I just sat down and went through the list one at a time checking them off as they were completed. For me at least it helped to keep me from feeling overwhelmed with all the work ahead of me and I was able to move through it pretty quickly. Oh and I usually do this to some really heavy, fast music. |
