The fact you can watch download movies as they happen, more transfers allowed than i.e6

but they are just small factors. Maybe it rocks because of the speed/multitabs/good feel to it/plus a damn fine browser

I love the speed, love the zoom, and find it compatible with 99% of the sites I use..
I also love the single key keybrowsing - 'z' to go back, 'x' to go forward..
I just wish it would support plugins like firefox!

My reasons:

- FAST
- Most secure
- Most advanced tab browsing

Dunno if FF does that aswell now, but in Opera i can move every Tab where i want it. But anywayz, Firefox is also pretty cool, but I'm just used to Opera and I like it. So, why should I change?

there are quite a lot of exploits for opera (of course not so many as for IE)
i have 3 browsers on my PC now (just to check how sites look like in all of them) but for surfing i prefer opera. can't say why. just a habbit

You can also zoom in IE. Hold ctrl and use the scroll on your mouse. Or use the zoom feature which is located right above where the clock is.

Fantastic browser. Ultra fast, never crashes on me and as we speak I have some 30 windows open!

It`s amazing why Opera has never been side by side with Firefox as the alternative browser.

Google is now behind Opera as they have a deal to be the primary search for Opera and they're pushing for Opera to become the browser of choice for mobile products. So anyone not ensuring their sites operate in it are going to be losing out.

Probably the main reason they're not as popular is because they had the ads. Those went away with the Google deal so now they're playing catch up.

The new version of Opera also has some bittorrent stuff in it but I haven't checked it out.

I love the transfer feature in Opera for when you're downloading lots of content zips, videos etc. all of it listed on the one page, restart and stop control etc.

Opera rocks.

Short cuts for search engines in the title bar.
(e blah = search ebay for "blah", g blah = search google for "blah"

Mouse Gestures
CSS Acid2 test compliance
Free
Not a real large memory hog
tabbed browsing system rocks
According to Secunia, Opera 8 and Opera 9 both have 0 unpatched known flaws.
Cross platform

Firefox is my second browser of choice, with IE as 3rd.

Opera does have some extensions (widgets was their official name last I checked), but the system isn't quite as nice as firefox's extension system.

Why would I use a piece of shit like that when there is Firefox? The last version of Opera I installed had ads in it that wanted me to buy it. Buy a web browser? Even Microsoft gives thiers away, I am not buying it.

Secure, fast, the shortcuts, cross-platform. I think they were the first to come out with tabbed browsing, too. I also like the fact that on the rare occasions when it does crash, I can just open it up again and resume with the page I was on before.

i use ff, opera and ie... But i use ff the most becuase im used to it. I use the other two just to see how my sites look with them. Opera is faster but it has a habit of just vanishing when I click certain links. ie is annoying as shit and does netscape still exist?

Judging something based on a version that was out YEARS ago? Just as bad as judging IE based on IE 4 or something. Here's a novel idea why don't you actually TRY it before commenting.
