Anyone know anything about trees ? I need some help
Huge branch fell half of a 30 ffot Canadian Maple I have in the backyard.
I am going to chainsaw it off and cut it up today. Does anyone know what I am supposed to do where it came of the tree? I heard you need to tar the opening or something so the whole tree does not die off.

You don't need to do anything. Tar and the like are only needed as short-term protection for certain species which have parasites that are attracted to fresh damage. Nor should you be concerned if any sap leaks from the break.
