Anyone know anything about trees ? I need some help
 

Huge branch fell half of a 30 ffot Canadian Maple I have in the backyard.
I am going to chainsaw it off and cut it up today.
Does anyone know what I am supposed to do where it came of the tree?
I heard you need to tar the opening or something so the whole tree does not die off.:(

well i thought i was going to be of some service to you, but i didnt realize you were talking about actual "trees"

You don't need to do anything. Tar and the like are only needed as short-term protection for certain species which have parasites that are attracted to fresh damage. Nor should you be concerned if any sap leaks from the break.
