hmmm, the entire corp?

When you say "You don't use the company anymore" how long would it have to have been idle?

I'm basically just buying the company name, none of the assets.

I dunno how you call it in the USA, but here we call it a "mantle company"

It doesn't matter for how long it has been idle, it just should not have any assets or liabilities.

I need the most recent Balance Sheet + Income Statement, and what else my lawyer requires.

If it has "hidden debts" that are not on the Balance Sheet / Income Statement you are comitting fraud.

Yes. Must be incorporated and meet the criterias.

If you founded a corporation once, but never used it. That would be a perfect match.

This i'm afraid doesnt protect you fully.

I believe you can find totally idle companies from day 1. At least in some european countries is pretty common.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if your no longer using it, you would not be keeping up with it in regards to what you have to do to run a corp... so an INC or LLC would not really continue to be an INC or LLC when you stop using the company.

Or am I wrong?

Yes...

especially for people from canada... cause when you incorporate a company in the states from canada... u have to wait like 6-8 weeks for your business TAX ID... but if you're an american citizen they'll give it to you over the phone...

Technically you are correct, but there are ways around that.
