Where did you get that spin?

The family yesterday in their daily press conference said they could no longer stand to see her in the state she's in and wouldn't be visiting her. Sounds like a Foxnews spin...

Guess they shouldn't have fucked with him for the last 15 years. They have no one to blame but themselves. I hope they writhe in agony over not being able to watch her die - they deserve it after what they've done to him.

DarkJedi,

You don't have a fucking clue what you talking about bro.

He fucks another woman for 15 years, he has a new life with that bitch, they have two kids but the only thing he doesn't have yet is the life insurance money. But soon he will have it all.

I have kids myself and if ever my son in law thinks that he can do that with my daughter, well the day my daughter died is the day he died ...

I would not need a court to let him change his mind ...

They finally let them in for a few minutes but made them leave and wouldn't let them be in there when she died. They let them come back in after she died. Their request to be with her when she died was denied. If you don't believe CNN, look it up for yourself. I have no reason to make it up.

If what he says is true (and I don't know that it is, just as you don't know that it isn't), he was doing what she wanted. I understand that other people came forward and gave testimony to that effect, which is why the courts sided with the husband.

Perhaps we should look at him as a man who promised something to someone and did everything in his power to keep his promise, despite what others BELIEVED was in her best interest.

The guy does LOOK like an idiot, but if he's being genuine, he went farther than anyone I could possibly imagine would go, to keep a promise to someone.

Whatever's true or not, they've called him everything - including a murderer. And up until now, they have had access to see her which is more than I would have allowed. The real assholes here are her family, not Michael.

I haven't seen anything that says she has a life insurance policy. As far as has been reported all the money from the malpractice lawsuit has been spent and there is no money left save a few grand left in a trust controlled by a judge.

I dunno. If he's been paying into insurance all this time, why shouldn't he get it?

He turned down how much from that one guy? 10 million dollars? If he's so immoral, why didn't he take that money?

Remember, the EASY thing to do, would have been to disassociate himself and move on entirely with his life. He didn't. Why? I see one of two reasons.

The first would be that HE somehow caused her death and is doing everything in his power to make sure the evidence goes to the grave with Terri. I don't know that this is true, but it's one theory.

The second reason, is the one I posted above. He's keeping a promise to someone he loves, and is going through more than anyone I can recall in doing so. If that's true, he has more morals than most people in the world.

So he met another woman. After 15 years, who am I to say that's wrong. Life goes on for him and would she have wanted him to sit at her bedside for the rest of her life? Highly doubtful.

What bothers me the most about this case is that her family and priests are calling him a murderer and inhumane. Christ, just this second I heard Jesse Jackson say he had no mercy.

(Copied from another thread)-If he's truly doing what he believes is correct (and her wish was/is to die), then the government, at the behest of those very people who are crying that it's inhumane, are the ones that ultimately denied this woman a humane death.

If anything, the valuable lesson in all this is not that reform is needed to protect the lives of people like Terri Shiavo, but rather that the legal system needs to be reformed to avoid abuse. 30+ appeals, all paid for by the taxpayers - mostly in Florida - is ridiculous.

The reform should be that people who file petitions and appeals are financially liable for court costs when they lose. That way, people like the Shiavos will think twice before taking their case to any and every court that is required to listen to them, with absolutely no consideration to the time and (other people's) money they are needlessly wasting.

There's was a lost case about 25 appeals ago but they exploited every loophole they could and exhausted every legal avenue open to them and now the people of Florida are on the hook for the massive bill. Is that justice?

Yes you're correct. My bad. How long was it though? What's the morally correct amount of time to wait to meet someone else again? I don't know. I've never been in that situation.

Read what I posted.

He didn't have the option of offering her a humane death. Assisted suicide is illegal. Who's gonna fight for life no matter what the situation and thus make euthanasia illegal? The same group of people who are complaining that her husband killed her inhumanely. That was the only way for him to ultimately give Terri what he believed she wanted. So, who's fault is it she died an inhumane death?

If they were so worried about a humane death for Terri, they should have brought in Dr.Kevorkian. Or, is he still in jail? I'm betting that's what her husband would have preferred. I'm also betting that her family and everyone else fighting for her to live, would have fought that too.

Exactly.

If the lawyers didn't get paid through all of this and had to fork out some cash to cover court costs, the legal system would be VERY different than it is today.

I agree with you in theory but would hate to be denied justice due to lack of funds.
