Who has SSL encrypted signup forms, logins & admins? The truth may surprize you!
I find it crazy that some of the sponsors out there I see with unprotected signup forms, login pages, and admins transmitting highly sensitive info totally unprotected!
Do any of you affiliates ever pay attention to that? It's your info ![]() Discuss............. https:// Cheers, BV |

No one cares? Especially with all the identity theft and domain hijacking going on?

SSL is a tunnel and not really required. If your domains are locked, you have backups of everything and your scripts go far deeper with read/write protection (normally), you're all good.
Customize everything and you're all good. If someone really wants to jack you, SSL or not, you will be jacked.

When an affiliate signs up for a program and enters their social security number and other sensitive data on a form and hits send that data needs and should be encrypted, otherwise it is possible for it to be intercepted and seen by someone other than who it was intended for. This also holds true for information that is entered or changed inside your affiliate administration area. This is why every online bank admin, paypal, ccbill, paycom, etc etc encrypt the data that is sent from your browser. So if this information was to fall into the wrong hands it is possible that they could use this info to help them hijack one of your domains or steal your identity, thus my comments on Domain Hijacking and Identity theft. I hope that explains everything a bit better and thank you for bumping an old thread. ![]() Cheers, BV |

The lack of SSL and other security measures is the result of a lack of understanding or caring on the part of site owners. Keep in mind that just because you see sponsors and others that don't take these measures, doesn't mean it's ok not to.

Most people can't even work with plain forms (even some of these so called "programs), let alone setup a ssl certificate and such lol
