I think you are referring to the 90's, when you could either register or buy cheap all the great type in names.

IMO today there's no more market for making money in newly registered names, unless:

- you buy them for $8 and sell for $25
- you buy them for $8, make a complete busines plan for them and sell them for $50k as Taboo apparently does :-)
- you buy names connected with the most recent events, innovations etc, but this requires you to stay on top of things that happen across the world in different industries

He is now paying at least 25% more for every domain he acquires through auction, soley because of the competition he has created through his threads.
