well I had no fucking clue why the canadiens were nicknamed the habs so i decided to give google a shot and came accross this very interesting page

Umm, those are those teams actual NAMES, not nicknames. "The habs" is just a nickname, did you not figure that out??

Can you please tell me why the Montreal Canadiens are called the Habs? I always felt bad asking.
