The Montreal Canadiens, also known as the Habs. Hmmm. Not exactly an obvious connection between the two. Actually, 'Habs' is the lazy way of saying 'Habitants du Quebec'. That's roughly equivalent to calling the Boston Bruins the 'Residents of Massachusetts'. Seems pretty goofy to me.
