The doc said the flow in my Carotid arteries may not be as it should be...so I have to go in Monday for tests. I failed to ask the doc what the test entailed...so does anyone here know what the test entails and the period of time it takes to complete the test?

The last time I was in to see him he checked my Carotids using his stethoscope and said the flow did not sound right. He also made an appointment for me to have a camera stuck up my ass to check for poylops and that does not sound like fun to me.

The colonoscopy isnt the worst thing in the world dont even worry about that. You're drugged up anyways. Ive had 3 in my fucking lifetime already. I dont even feel it, I only get embarrassed when my friends find out.

Yeah it's easy. A fleet enema at the drug store but its not an enema. It's powder you mix with a half gallon of water and drink and shit your brains out all night then go for test in morning.

I had to drink the liquid stuff instead, mixed with a glass of fruit juice...talk about nasty! I thought I was going to puke it up and have to drink the stuff all over again.

And the test itself is nothing at all...don't be scared of it or worried about it. I was terrified, but they gave me the drugs and I was out like a light. I had no clue about any of it until I was back in the recovery area and my husband was talking to me.

After the test...well, to be perfectly frank...you're gonna fart. A LOT. They inflate you with gas during the test, and my advice is -- let it out! I don't care where you are -- let it rip! Trust me, you'll feel so much better when you do. Other than that, I was just tired for a day or so, from the drugs they knock you out with, Make sure you have someone with you to drive you home -- they won't let you go if you don't, and they won't let you take a taxi, either. Your brains are going to be seriously scrambled from the drugs -- it's a form of scopalimine, which causes short-term amnesia.

And not only did I not have any pain from the procedure, but they took biopsies from my intestines while they were in there, and i never had any pain from that, either...which you figure you would, seeing as they scooped out some of my gut-tissue from the inside.

I hope the carotid-flow test or whatever it is they need to do goes well for you -- and dont' worry about the colonoscopy, 'kay?

i realy hope everything goes well for you.. but on the other hand, maybe your doc has other interests?

Teeth, yes. Carotids? And then Dr. Wang said, "That's great because you're in great shape if there's another terrorist attack." Dr. Wang grinned and shifted his weight like boys do when they're nervous around girls, and said we could talk more about that.

Carotids and terrorism as seduction. This is a trend I had missed. I should get out more.
