How is the Goth niche doing?

I know goth is a fairly small niche but does it convert well? How are rebills?

Blood Money does real good! Lots of Goth stuff.
People who like that stuff tend to stick around for the rebills, helps in that it's unique.

Spent a lot. Haven't recouped a dime.
But it's a fun niche.

I think Fletch is a secret agent. His posts are code phrases that don't make any sense in a normal thread, but to those who know.. they speak volumes. The decoder for this one says..

Oz

So far not worth my time and traffic.
has done horribly on targeted traffic.

There is not a single Goth site that can close a sale without stealing my traffic.

Hmm, OK Thanks for the info.

I might still try it and see what happens.

slavdogg
So you feel that the goth sites just don't have it together as far as converting once the surfer is there?

Why do you think that is? Is it just to fake as compared to real life goth?

Hmm, this gives me some ideas.

Oz, i have no doubt Goth sites can convert traffic
its just every goth sponsor out there right now has no tour that will convert traffic. Therefore not worth sending traffic to.

I'm still waiting for my Goth friend to put his site up.
or someone else that can turn my goth traffic into $$

I have quite a few affiliates converting at 1:50-1:250. We are working on new tours, but the ones I have are working pretty nicely.

I personally enjoy goth content and there's some wonderful goth sites out there, Ian's being prime examples. However goth converts the worst out of all the many niches that I promote at Carnalia.com. I'd love the goth niche to succeed for me because it's a breath of fresh air, but presently I'm not making any money from it

I'm sure Goth does well but not for me. I used hosted Goth galleries on my TGPs they seemed to get higher CTR than any other hosted I ran at the time yet conversion didn't seem to be too good. After doing 0:8,000 I quit.

I think it comes down to the fact that anything worthwhile isn't easy. If you know how to make goth sites convert, they will really impress you. If not, they won't go anywhere. One problem is that it is hard to promote gothic stuff to people coming from mainstream porn sites.

People looking for goth porn, just like people looking for fine-art erotica or some fetishes, want something real and not something opportunistic. Likewise, people looking for free porn, mainstream porn, etc. don't necessarily react well to goth porn. Many of them haven't heard of it, and many of them just expect something else.

So, the trick with goth porn is to get the right traffic, and filter it well. I find that goth-oriented AVS sites work well. The traffic they send, and that some other sites send, converts very well on my sites. If you want to make sure that the traffic converts well for you overall, then make sure you redirect people who don't want real goth porn somewhere else. Then everybody wins.

It is my firm belief that the goth niche is growing. As more of us get into it, there will be more content, and more traffic. People will come to understand what it is about, and people who already understand it will finally be able to find sites. My sales have been growing very impressively, and the demand for content is also up. Now is the time to get in on an interesting niche that has so far remained quite small. I am glad I'm one of the leaders, at least in a few small ways.

The point of my graph was to show the scale of the growth. I'm not interested in sharing my exact sales numbers with the general public, sorry.

my post was to point out how stupid the question/statement of 'i hear goth is doing good, how are rebills?' was and is.

to ask about rebills is as bland as saying, hows the sauce? one site may do well while the other does not, rebills are unique to every site, just as sauce is unique to various pizza places or a chef's recipe.

so again i say, 'i hear pizza is good, hows the sauce.'

'i hear goth is doing good, how are rebills?'

do you get it now?

Followed by "I know goth is a fairly small niche but does it convert well? How are rebills?"

Jeez I don't know what you look for but these are two things I like to know about something before I promote it or them.

There is nothing wrong with what I asked.
Don't you like to know how something converts and rebills are?

It can be hard for anyone to know something like how well an entire niche rebills.

Unfortunately, I also can't give a lot of data on my own program. I have offered non-rebilling options, and while people sign up over and over again, it means that the "rebill" stats are skewed.

This week, I am trying out new pricing on my larger site, and have removed the non-rebilling option. It is a test, and if it goes well, soon rebills will be up and I will start to get useful numbers on it.

As for conversions, it depends entirely on the sources of traffic, like with anything. Overall, I am extremely happy with how my sites are converting.

Really I guess I should have worded the questions a bit different.
Like how does goth do in general?
How well do some of the sponsors convert?
If the sponsor does do rebills how, are rebills good?

There, that pretty much what I was asking

In general, goth is hard. If you know what you are doing, especially if you know goth (adult or not) then you will do well. Even people who don't do goth much are converting my sites.

I come out of a gothic erotica print publishing background, so I did that niche first. So I'm kinda comparing other niches to that instead of the other way around. I find that SpookyCash.com affiliates with fetish traffic do best with GothicSluts.com and SpookyCash.com affiliates with teen and amateur traffic like BarelyEvil.com We give affiliates credit for both sales if a surfer signs up for one site and then the other as well. We do not duplicate any of our content between sites, so that is a common cross-sell. Is cross-sell the right term for that? A common sell anyway.

Hey Oz...If you are looking for a corporate cookie cutter type Goth site i just launched one for the www.dollarmachine.com program yesterday. www.gothfuck.com

And for those that will inevitably ask it is converting at about 1:150 so far.

Wow, do you think you could rip off any MORE of my GothicSluts.com design and sales terminology?

maybe I'm not seeing it - but where's the ripoff? Gothicfuck looks good but a heads up - the pop ups are screwed.

I'm sure gothic could be profitable...but dealing with the people is like dealing with high schoolers who aren't "understood" and haven't realized the value of prozac...

best of luck -

Well, I don't totally disagree about the prozac, but it depends on which people you are dealing with.

First, the logo is nearly the same and written in the same font.

Here is one of the only pages on the GothicSluts.com tour that has non-exclusive images: http://www.GothicSluts.com/gothic_sex2.html
and those same images are primary content for the GothFuck tour. I could go on, but I think it's a reasonable claim on those points already.

as you pointed out...non-exclusive - it's a business. Want something protected - pay for exclusive.

as far as fonts...that's just petty - one site is professionally designed - one isn't...

wait a minute...doesn't yahoo use "arial" too?

best of luck -

ForrestBlack, Ian and others with Goth sites

there is not a reason goth sites shouldnt convert on the same level as most other niches. The problem here is not the traffic from affiliates, the problem is each one of Goth sites i looked at.

Ians sites and Spoocycash sites have way too many banners, and links to other sites on the tours to steal my traffic.

lets break it down site by site
barelyevil.com < i cant surf this site without beeing slammed by the exit consol. A little hard to navigate.
gothicsluts.com < is the cleanest of all sites, BUT still has a banner to blueblood.net on every single page including the join pages.
http://www.blood-dolls.com < its easier to find links to other sites than a way to enter the site.
I'll save you some time Ian, all your tours such in the same way. And many are hard to vagiate.

bottom line if both of you dont do some drastic changes soon, you wont survive for much longer this way.
And dont forget to look at your new competition gothfuck.com
NICE CLEAN TOUR, and $35 per free sign up.

ElvisManson, i'm about to send you my goth traffic, i'll post results in few days.

ForrestBlack, dont you think its a little silly for you to be saying someone stole your fonts ??

come on now,
your site is nearly an identical copy of a very popular site

http://suicidegirls.com/main.sg < their site
http://www.barelyevil.com/home.html < your site

Yeah, I realize it's GFY and all, but there really isn't any call for you to be a jerk. So, the design elements and logo are similar, big deal. I didn't say it was the end of the world, and to be totally accurate, I have grounds to call pretty much anything in the niche a rip on my stuff, to one degree or another. Do you really think I'm saying they have no right to use that stuff? Not at all. I just think it's funny that designers don't even know what the fuck Gothic content is, unless they see us use it first.
