Attorney for accuser in Patrick Kane case cites evidence tampering - Chicago Tribune

Considering there is a Hustler mug on the shelf in the background of his interview, and that Patrick Kane's alleged incident happened in Buffalo where Mr. Cambria resides, I am going to go out on a limb and say it's the same dude who has helped to defend the first amendment.

Good for him.

My post shouldn't be construed as taking a side in the case, rather, good for Paul's business to represent such a high profile client.

Cambria is a super highly regarded attorney so it makes sense. He has been named one of the best lawyers in America for over 25 years.

He's represented Kane before, not the first time Pat Kane has been in legal trouble.

Today things got much weirder, the lawyer for the girl who is accusing Kane of raping her held a press conference. The mother of the girl found a package in her door, a ripped paper bag containing the rape kit evidence in a sealed bag. Which is insane. It's possible a whistle blower from inside the police department sent it to the mother to alert the family that the evidence has been tampered with. Cambria said the other side has more to gain from this than Kane since the word is that Kane's DNA wasn't found vaginally or anywhere below the girl's waist. His DNA was found under her fingernails though. Bite marks as well though Cambria says he's not heard that. So all the physical evidence is now pretty much useless. There's talk of the FBI and NY Attorney General investigating how this happened, somebody committed a very serious crime.

Buffalo is a city I'm very familiar with, it is fairly corrupt, old time Democratic political machine has power. The D.A. has no respect among the legal community and this case is making him look like a chump. There have been many leaks to the Buffalo News newspaper.

And the case got even more bizarre tonight. The accuser/victim's lawyer had another press conference and announced he was retiring from the case. He now has serious doubts about the mother's story how she got hold of this torn paper evidence bag. It looks like Cambria was right, the alleged victim's side had more to gain by planting the idea that the physical evidence was tampered with, because the leaked information was favorable to Kane, no DNA found below the girl's waist. The D.A. is having a press conference tomorrow, perhaps we'll find out how this bag ended up in the mother's hands. I heard a rumor that the girl's brother works at ECMC the hospital where the girl went to get checked out.

I think that will put an end to the case, though the Grand Jury won't hear about the shenanigans of the past few days. Whether he assaulted her or not he'll avoid jail I bet.
