Credit / Identity Lock Down Service
My Father is going senile and has been giving out personal information such as birth dates etc over the phone to people with blocked numbers and via email.
I just added identity theft protection for $25 a year to his policy which pays the costs to regain identity but does not cover any financial loss. I want to lock down his credit so no one can create new accounts etc. Has anyone used a service like this and what are your experiences? |

You need to get Power of Attorney before he is too senile to sign the forms.

Regarding your dads credit, its best that he contacts each of the three bureaus and informs them he wishes to lock down his credit, by "blocking" inquiries. It is free. Good luck!

Been through the Drs (MRI's and Cat Scans) and the lawyers. I already have a POA.
Lost my mother a few months ago to cancer and he just had a kidney yanked last month - Cancer. I have been acting as a caretaker for both..it has been a hell of a year. He is still barley functional and wants to be on his own. We have another test tonight to determine a baseline and legal competence. If he fails, the POA automatically kicks in. Free lock down? Awesome! |
