Hey people,

I'm looking for cheap virtual hosting for porn. One of the things I'm looking for that's important to me is SSH access because I like to do my PHP/Perl coding on the host directly since it's more convenient. I also preferably want a full set of utilities, for example I contacted HostGator and they have SSH access but no support for lynx. I like to use lynx for quick browsing while logged into SSH.

So, spam me with virtual hosts with SSH!

You might wanna check out a VPS (Virtual Private Server), at least until you get enough traffic to move up to an honest to god dedicated machine. They are really nice for dev work.

You basically get a virtualized machine, with root access, and can do what ever you like.. and very cheap. Slicehost.com, and Linode.com are two that I know of.

Jail means that the SSH access is limited to your account ( folder ).

What drjones said, but if you are looking for a cheaper VPS provider, give VPSLink a try. They've currently got a special until August 7th (see: http://forums.vpslink.com/showthread...=8592#post8592) which allows you to get 30% off any plan, making their cheapest plan $5.57 per month for 64 MB RAM, 2 GB disk space and 100 GB bandwidth. Mind you, you'll have to do a bit of optimising to get a server running well on 64 MB of RAM.
