Why not 1 mega site instead of 5-6 sites?????

Hello all,
I have one major (business) issue, that I haven?t made a decision about. Maybe your experience could help us to decide.

Why wouldn?t it be a good idea for us to create one mega site encompassing all, (mostly black/interracial content with big booty girls, thick girls, orgies, celebrity hosted movies, etc), and creatively market each aspect to consumers, opposed to building out 5-6 mega sites. I understand the concept of creating ?storefronts? where one customer may be drawn to one thing opposed to another, but if I can effectively market the type of content that they are seeking why wouldn?t it be a better move? If I have a total of $15,000 allocated for advertising and marketing, I would have to equally promote each site, assuming it were 5 sites, a total of $3,000 each. I don?t save in that area.

Is the concept of more bang for the buck the driving force for most to start multiple sites? Customers feel like they are getting more for the same dollar? Your help is appreciated.

** 1st I wouldn't recommending spending a cent till you market yourself and test your conversions **

Sites catered to a specific niche are always SEO efficient, you will get listed in review/link sites dedicated to your niche, you would be adding value to a member by saying, "join this site and see the other XX sites". Its classic retail mentality.

Depends on the mass of content you have. Starting to build 1 site and go from there is advisable as your learning curve for marketing will make your other sites suffer.

Just my two cents.

Hi K,

Don't know for sure, but I'm doing what you propose. Didn't do market research, just jumped in. My niche is girl-girl anal and that's what I mainly shoot but, still, when I get the urge, I shoot anything I want.

Like Katja Kassin -- I love her anal scenes with guys, so booked her doing that -- after I had booked her twice for girl-girl scenes. But, yeah, for me the thought of dealing with 5 different site just sounds like a royal pain in the ass, so I'm going with my gut.

I'm doing well, too. But it took me three years to get here. So, I don't know shit really. I just know I'm slowly but surely building a megasite. It's medium-sized now, but every week there's more content, more members. Just going with what works for me. If you're in partners with a developer who handles site design and backend database work, multiple sites might be the way to go.

Having more sites allows you to do more link exchange.

You can have a lot of smaller sites link to your primary money maker, for instance.

If you have multiple sites you can 'chain' them together and get an entire network. This can help in PR upgrading, but also in selling ad spots. I would go for the 5 or 6 sites.

Just my 2cents

I have a 120 gigs paysite for the past 8 years.

I am splitting it progessively in different sites by niche . I will end up with 5 sites for a total of 150 gigs.
I will rise my join price by $5.00 and offer access o " the 4 other sites" as a fantastic bonus..

Clients go for that.

Also, content can be rotated between those sites ( a Big Titted blond can be a lesbian, or a hairy, or a milf, ...)

On the other hand, I have 3 DVD sites ( selling hard goods ). Those I am merging and mirroring to one site.

Hi kgibson

Most people choose to get many domains as to promote their content, however you could also use sub domains of your own domain... for example:

If your site is called kgibson.com you can create sub domains like:

black.kgibson.com
lesbian.kgibson.com
boobs.kgibson.com

etc...

And you could submit all your sub domains separately to the search engines with their own keywords... and each one of your sub domains will be picked up under the unique keywords that you pick out for each...

This sounds like what you might want...

Hope this helps you out...

Later,

.
