Quick seo question
quick seo question.
If I use and H1 tag, the text will big, bigger than the rest. Is is allowed by search engines to make the h1 font size smaller? of will your site get penalised? |

Yes, use CSS to make the heading look the way you want. Google will still see it as an H1 tag.

best not to use display:none as thats obvious that you're trying to "spam" that keyword/phrase.
but really, you should have whatever keyword you're targetting as text somewhere anyway, so it shouldnt be too hard to just make it the correct size. |

I don't believe in cheating to get traffic.

all of the engines check for those type of tricks. even down to checking font color against backgrounds. tiny fonts are flagged as well

Btw, it's not a good idea to set the font size using px. Rather use em or %. |

Do not try to trick the search engines. They will always figure it out. H1 tags are key regarding SEO, but if you do something sneaky, the SEs will figure it out.
