New TGP...why is my prod so f'ing low?

hello all

long time lurker --just built my first tgp and I'm looking for some advice.

it's been active for about 3 weeks. This is my first and only tgp so I'm in the unpleasant position of having to build trades/traffic from nothing

from reading other threads around here I understand you need good productivity in order to build trades -at least 200% 300%+ being ideal

I've got a decent layout (I think) and a generous skim to galleries (it figures out to 70%+) but my productivity from trades generally sucks ass

my overall productivity averages between 150 and 200

Traffic from yahoo and google search and toplists has been doing well (2-300%) and my noref/bookmarkers are strong too

BUT the majority of my trades are lucky to crack 100% and as a result they're croaking --and dragging down my prod as they go.

a few of my trades are fine --but the majority just won't produce

so... whats the problem? I've tried not to obsess over trades that die -sometimes a trade just don't work right? but I'm a small site and it's hard as hell to find those start up trades -most sites want 200+ a day and I just can't do it yet. so I'm clinging to what I've got.

My traffic is VERY low ~400 uniques a day -perhaps that's not enough to get a true picture of productivity? should I trim back my trades until I have a bigger base of traffic (right now I have 15 active trades - at one time I had 30)

I know there aren't any hard answers to this question -but any ideas would be appreciated.

Higher quality thumbs, make sure all your thumbs display (this one is not yasmine_nikki_01_m1.jpg), do some hardlink trades as well

thanks for taking a look --my toplist template must have gotten screwed up on my last rebuild! prob wouldn't have caught that for a long time! thanks

never saw the missing thumb either --had to dump my browser cache to see it broken. thanks again!

You can try ANOTHER DESIGN FOR TGP

thats's two mentions now of my thumbs...and I must admit watching my prod slump my first thought was some of those crumby thumbs. I don't think they're ALL bad -but some are, can't deny that.

problem is they're all vid galleries and sometimes it's tough to get a thumb that's not blurry. some sponsors are worse than others on this --the ones that use really highly compressed movies are just impossible. eurorevenue is the worst of the bunch they compress the shit out of their movies no way to get a decent thumb with agp's gallery scanner--of course, they're also my top converter

Getting a thumb script could help manage your site better. I personally use Autogallery SQL to manage my thumbs and it's helped boost the level of surfers coming back to me. Makes it easy to crop thumbs, list them, and rotate them so that surfers aren't bored of the content. All I do everyday is just approve galleries and the software is setup to do the rest. Check it out if you want here:

Also, you may want to keep your trades pumpin with some traffic. Choker Traffic is pretty good, but you need to find the right niche traffic for this to work out for you. You gotta spend some to get some.

And Finally, it's always good to manage your trades daily. I look at manage my trades at least 3 times a day. Hope this helped.

thanks for taking a look! I use agp pro to run the page. I add fresh thumbs every day -but don't have the ability to dynamically rotate/rank thumbs like comus or agp sql

my productivity has gotten better over the last few days. maybe fixing my toplist helpd (thanks again khs!) I think I need more traffic before I can really get a good idea of my true prod --I'm nickle & diming it right now

I've used some choker traffic recently and it's been very productive -but there isn't very much volume available in blowjobs/facials so I don't know how useful it'll be for building trades?
