in google analytics you can see how long the average visitor spends on your site. If it's a couple mins or longer on average, chances are they're reading something
Do you make it clear you want people to comment? I visit alot of blogs written by chicas in my industry, but I rarely comment on anything, even the ones I enjoy the most. It would never even occur to me that some people want comments...I've always assumed that people comment for their own SEO purposes (adding in links, etc). I'd guess alot of your visitors who do enjoy your blog have a similar perspective, so maybe consider making it clear you do welcome their feedback?
