![]() Hi guys,
okay I want to start a blog provided by sponsor content. But all the sponsors I found require me to enter the URL of my website. But since I don't have one yet - how can I apply for their program? Are they satisfied if I just send them the URL to a blog that only consists out of layout but does not have any content yet? Thanks Ray |

Buy the domain you plan to use and have a full screen 'Coming Soon' page which mimics the look and feel of your planned site. Doesn't have to be anything to elaborate so long as you use the same colors and same fonts. Add a short message in the application, introduce yourself, and tell them the gist of your plan. If there isn't an email address listed on the website, find it somewhere else.
While there are definitely a lot of crap sponsors out there, there are many more crap affiliates, and infinitely more crap websites. Having a strict application generally means the sponsor is less likely to be crap and means its less likely that their content will be on the thousands of crap websites made by their hundreds of crap affiliates so unless you're planning to make a crap website, be thankful for the process. Oh, and don't send someone else's site because only a cunt would do that and people generally don't like cunts.

I think most sponsors doesnt check your datas on signup, half of them open account automatically or just after email validation. And 80% from the rest just check if you did not fill nonsenses like name "Terminator Predator" :-)
But i recommend in your case to write them about your project so they know you and do not kick you off thinking you could be just the clever jerker. Most of sponsors are happy for each affiliate in the present and i am sure they will not only activate you but help you with anything you need.

Just mention that you don't have a site yet, most sponsors will accept that.

get domain, start blog.
then get sponsors... if you plan to SPAM - not having a domain - check their TOS. Most, including us do not allow email spam for example. |
