What do you think? Looks like they start to take OpenOffice as a very serious threat.

I love MS Office and tried open office several time, but I could never get used to it....

If Microsoft says OpenOffice is shit then they are doing something right on openoffice.org.

I think OpenOffice if a great alternative to Microsoft Office for the home user and of course all companies that just need the basics... Not many people need to build macros and shit. They just need the basic features that OpenOffice can provide.

That's one way to advertise lol.

I've used OpenOffice for years... I've never ran into an issue where OpenOffice didn't do what I needed it to do.


That video makes it sound like if my Windows7 broke and I called support, that MS would update the software (fix the code problem) to correct my problem... and OpenOffice wouldn't or rather couldn't because it was open source. MS must be scared of OO like no other.

Open Office has gained popularity and Microsoft is shitting itself. This effort from Microsoft demonstrates that Open Office is doing all the right stuff. More FUD from Microsoft, who would have thought ? lol.

I using open office since days when it was called star office.....And i tried once Microsoft office just for fun and experience was horrible,so i reverted back to open office and never looked back.

Back when i worked in mainstream fulltime for a web dev company, I had ms word crash so fucking often that i started writing things using pen and paper instead. That's how bad MS Word is.

Openoffice hasn't let me down ONCE.

Microsoft must be shitting themselves if they are resorting to bullshit scare stuff about the competitions product.

Also,only thing which missing on openoffice is base like ms access,but i dont need that anymore so i dont care.
They even used same excuse as for win vs linux (support cost more for linux)
