I've used OpenOffice for years... I've never ran into an issue where OpenOffice didn't do what I needed it to do.
That video makes it sound like if my Windows7 broke and I called support, that MS would update the software (fix the code problem) to correct my problem... and OpenOffice wouldn't or rather couldn't because it was open source. Also,only thing which missing on openoffice is base like ms access,but i dont need that anymore so i dont care.
