Lock Down The USA/ Mexican Border NOW!

Or let our people start shooting back!

http://www.aolnews.com/nation/articl...rtley/19658735

"Oct. 3) -- Dodging gunfire from pirates on a Texas-Mexico border lake, Tiffany Hartley was forced to make an impossible choice: risk her life by staying with her husband or return to land and seek help.

The couple were sightseeing on Jet Skis on the Mexican-side of Falcon Lake on Thursday when Hartley says several boats of gunmen opened fire, striking her husband in the back of his head.

A recording of her 911 call released this weekend and reports from law enforcement officials detail the tragic incident.

"He was thrown off the Jet Ski and I couldn't pick him up to get him on mine," Hartley, 29, told the 911 dispatcher after she safely made it to shore. "Oh, God."

"She said she was seeing bullets hitting close to her in the water and realized that her husband had been hit behind the head," Zapata County, Texas, Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez Jr. told ABC News. "She went back trying to find, trying to help him. She went in the water trying to load up her husband to her Jet Ski ... trying to get his body and Jet Ski back to the U.S. side. She was being shot at so she finally had to let go of the body, climb back in her Jet Ski and head back over here to the United States."

Hartley told police that the armed men, who Gonzalez said he believes are pirates associated with a Mexican drug cartel, chased her into U.S. waters as she fled.

"I'm alive because of God's protection. There is no other reason," she told The Denver Post.

Officials are still searching Falcon Lake for the body of her husband, David Michael Hartley, 30, according to Fox News.

"The one thing I dreaded on Falcon Lake has happened," said the Zapata County sheriff. "The lake is not secure, the border is not secure because the incident that I dreaded the most has in fact happened. We cannot go to Mexico, we cannot recover that body, we cannot conduct an investigation, we have to tell the family we can't do anything about it."

Way to think for yourself there.

So should we lock down any American city where people are shot at?

Or let any country from which their tourists are shot at in this country attack our country?

it has done a pretty good job... at increasing immigrant deaths, running up huge budget problems, and increasing fear among millions of americans

unfortunately... it has also resulted in NO decreases in drugs or immigrants making it into the US

the only way to reduce the violence at the border is to legalize marijuana in my opinion

I've seen that wall and I saw the wall the Communist block put around Eastern Europe. The US/Mexican border is a joke compared with the Communist one.

Was watching a program recently on National Geographic, most of the marijuana in the US is grown in the US. Sometimes by enthusiasts and often by organised crime gangs.

Great Story If Tiffany Hartley Wanted Her Husband Dead
October 3rd, 2010

So a young woman tires of her husband, or maybe she is scared to death of him if she is a victim of ongoing domestic violence, her husband kicking the shit out of her whenever he needs to bring her into line.

What if for some reason divorce is not an option for her and that she needed to come up with a workable plan to get away with murder?

What if the only way out of her marriage and to cash in at the same time was for her to commit murder?

Hmm?

Far be it from CC to just come right and say that 21-year-old Tiffany Hartley found herself in a boring or abusive marriage and that in order to get out of that marriage, she concocted a plan to take her husband out to sea and put a bullet in the back of his head.

The young Mrs. Hartley could be a cold and calculating woman right, evil to the core. It?s not like those kind of women don?t exist on this planet.

It?s more than just a little possible that she could have shot her husband in the back of the head while they were jet-skiing on a popular lake that straddles the Texan and Mexican border, and to cover her tracks, she come out with a damn good story. Much like the one she?s telling now.

It?s also possible that her husband?s life insurance policy is worth more than any divorce settlement she would receive.

According to Mrs. Hartley, she and her 30-year-old husband David were jet-skiing on Falcon Reservoir, when armed pirates opened fire on them; a bullet striking her husband in the back of the head.

When her husband fell into the water, she says she tried to pull him onto her jet-ski, while bullets were whizzing over her head.

What a brave woman and she was obviously luckier than her husband was too, what with pirates shooting at her as they closed in on her idling jet-ski.

Unable to pull her husband onto her jet-ski (he?s twice the size of her), and after seeing the bullet wound in the back of his head, Mrs. Hartley decided that the only way she was going to survive was to abandon her husband and flee on her jet ski. Good f**king call for a woman whose husband had just been shot in the head by pirates, don?t you think?

Glad to hear she was calm enough to make such a rational decision. Good on her.

?It?s a miracle I?m even here,? she said during a telephone interview with the Denver Post. It must have been extremely difficult for her to tell such a heartbreaking and terrifying story so soon after her husband?s death. Her husband was shot and killed by these so-called pirates the day before yesterday by the way.

A fisherman claims he saw Mrs. Hartley racing back to the U.S. border and that a boat was following her into U.S. waters. Nothing has been said, not yet anyway, that he heard gunfire coming from the boat that he saw following her.

Authorities have searched for Mr. Hartley?s body, but unfortunately they aren?t allowed to enter Mexican waters, and get this; local police efforts have been hampered because somebody removed the motor from their boat.

Don?t sweat it officers, sharks probably made a meal out of Mr. Hartley by now, circling his corpse the moment they picked up the sent of his blood and moving into to devour him only after Mrs. Hartley fled the scene. That?s what CC is thinking happened to the body, but then again, the pirates might have taken the body too.

This could very well be one of those oh so elusive perfect murders we rarely hear about.

To me, this feels like Mexico has unofficially declared war on us. If armed people from one country in any other part of the world started shooting people from the neighboring country, it would be international incident. So WTF is up with the USA. Do we not have the balls to shoot back?

How is it a declaration of war? It's a known problematic gang issue that Mexico is trying to fight but cannot deal with it. This isn't like Hezbollah or Hamas fighting with Israel. The drug cartels are not part of the Mexican government (aside from bribes and corruption.)

Prohibition of popular substances brings violence. Legalize cannabis and treat addiction (mere use does NOT equate to addiction) as a health issue - keep law enforcement out of it.

Yes because legalizing pot will stop the gangs from smuggling cocaine, heroin and meth across the border. :error. Did legalizing booze stop the mob? No they just moved on to other things. So unless your for legalizing every single drug ever made you're not stopping drug violence.

i think, although i do not have concrete facts, that a reason why legalizing marijuana would indeed drop the violence at the border is because there are a lot more "mexican gangs" involved in the marijuana trade, while the heroin and cocain trade is a bit more specialized, with the violence involved being more constrained to within mexico and not spiling across the border.

the cocaine and heroin cartels are not sending hundreds of smugglers across each day. they are better financed, and more interested in doing "smart" smuggling. marijuana smugglers have more of the "they cant stop us all" attitude and therefore try to push as much through as they can all the time, because if they lose a couple shipments now and there its not that big of a loss, and therefore there are more of the lower level men located close to both sides of the borders which is where the majority of the violence is coming from.

i could be wrong, thats how i would imagine it plays out though

but maybe we will get lucky and our next president will not be like "the chosen one" and will start a war with mexico... that would probably work out pretty good for america :helpme

Let's say that you are right. So we go ahead and legalize marijuana. Americans no longer need Mexican shipments. Do you really think the drug cartels would be okay with that? They would just take the massive financial hit, walk away, and get a job at 7-11?

No, they would find something else. There is no personal investment in marijuana for them, they like the money. That's why they do it.

Even if the USA did "start a war with Mexico", it would only last about an hour-and-a-half, besides, it's pretty apparent that Mexico has already repeatedly attacked the USA or it's citizens with or without the approval of its pathetic, corrupt and ineffective government.

Yep, cocaine and heroin too. Heck, cocaine can still be legally prescribed. Treat addiction as a health issue.

With that said, much of the smuggling involves cannabis, so legalizing that alone would go a long way towards reducing drug war violence.

Sadly many don't think this stuff through ... so lets spend tens of thousand of dollars per year instead to lock them up in prison, plus then pay for government housing, food stamps, etc for them when they get out, since they won't be able to get a job most anywhere due to having a criminal record ...

And to top it off, it's highly likely many will re-offend, often committing a more serious crime - one who has nothing, has nothing to lose - it's no wonder it's a war zone in many places.

Addiction treatment, heck even if it's at an in-patient facility, is often cheaper, and certainly better for society than prison.

No, they didn't try a wall. They tried putting a line of popcorn that was 6 feet tall.

A wall of mexican bodies, seperated by bodypart, heads here, arms and legs here, intenstines over there, complimented by rows of marines and tanks that WE pay for, ordered to shoot on sight, now that would be a wall.

Addition treatment has been shown to be very effective in countries like Switzerland and Sweden where it is truely considered to be an addiction, not a crime.

Punching an old lady in the face is a crime. Compulsive behavoir, be it eating too much chocolate, or drug addiction, is just a fact of the way the brain short-circuits itself.

Garden City Population
White alone - 13,922 (48.7%)
Hispanic - 12,765 (44.7%)
Asian alone - 1,015 (3.6%)
Black alone - 467 (1.6%)
American alone - 276 (1.0%)
Two or more races - 137 (0.5%)

So your saying all the hispanics in Garden City are illegal. And if so, why haven't the local authorities done something about. I'm pretty sure the area is pro rebublican and anti-illegal immigrant. Most America are too stupid or lazy to se the "big picture" they want sound bite answers. Just like Obama care. All idiots see is "$1 tillion cost" even though in the long run it saves $1.4 trillion.
