Taryn from Inbox - Re: Tabitha's donation money

How about giving us a status update on the donations for Tab; like how much was collected and why you haven't given her any of it yet?

Thanks.

The money wasn't donated by epassporte, was it?

MrBottomTooth 09-11-2010 06:32 PM

You'll have to discuss this with her spokesperson, NoCarrier.

This was quite awhile ago, even if it was I'm sure it's been long removed.

Not good but typical of this industry. Chock full of cons and scammers.

Not every time the hat gets passed around it's a scam- there have been people I've helped out, none of which were scammers (and unfortunately I think none of which are still with us today) and I don't regret donating. Not to sound cheesy but I actually feel richer in spirit that I was able to help a few people out in their time of need.

Something happened though in the last 12 months or maybe a little more, when the economy got tough, it seemed scammers really came out of the woodwork. It totally jaded me, and I hate that. I'm already a pretty cynical person.

Oh yeah, sure - not all of the donation/charity threads around here are scams. But for every charity thread that works out, there is one where someone cons people out of money.

There was some asshole on here that said his kid had a fucking brain tumor!!! Rolled out with i think 20g's playing on peoples heart strings :disgust

I remember that. Wasn't the guy Canadian? Bounced with 20k all built up on bullshit. Gotta trust that karma will catch up to these people.

Back to the Tabbi bit, if I recall there were two funds- one for the waitress who pretty much saved her life by administering CPR and one for Tabbi herself. Does anyone know any follow up on either of these?

How did this get to page 2? Surely there is some good drama about to explode here.

perhaps, but lets wait for an explanation :2 cents:

Brujah 09-12-2010 03:28 PM

Stop donating. If you feel charitable, give to a family member or friend in your local circle.

OneHungLo 09-12-2010 08:35 PM

So whats the 411? Someone collects donations but decides to keep it for themselves? Are they active on this board? What's their name here?

NikKay 09-15-2010 05:40 AM

Someone must know the person who started the collecting. Did Tabby verify she never received the money?

TeenCat 09-15-2010 05:43 AM

wow ... karma works ... and this will be so hard ...

ajrocks 09-15-2010 05:45 AM

I don't know the person that was accepting donations for Tabitha, but I hope they will give the money to her. I haven't heard any more about this.

DamianJ 09-15-2010 05:59 AM

Someone must know her to alert her of this thread so she can come in and explain.

This statement pretty much says it all...

Another LOW point in this industry

Zuzana Designs 09-15-2010 06:25 AM

I hope she gets her money and is doing well.

JayDeeZee 09-15-2010 06:57 AM

I've met Taryn and would rather give her the benefit of the doubt. I was under the impression that the money was to buy a gift for the girl who did CPR on her.

This is by no means pressure to anyone, its totally voluntary.

If you have PayPal and would like to make a donation to me for Tabitha or for a gift for the waitress, please feel free to make your donation to [email protected], which is me.

Also if anyone has any suggestions on what to get for the waitress, please feel free to make the suggestion.

Once I have ordered something for the waitress, I will post a picture of the gift she received, along with a proof of purchase, just so no one thinks I would take the money and run.

If you make a donation, please make sure you tell me whether it will be for Tabitha or towards a gift for the Hooters server.

Tabitha is very close friend of mine and my husband's, and she is considered an aunt to my little baby daughter. I have been in tears since hearing about the accident, and my thoughts are with Tabitha, until the day I get to see her again, and see her beautiful smile.

Either way, an update would be appreciated.

anexsia 09-15-2010 07:00 AM

The funds are most likely in motion.

Either way, an update would be appreciated.

She listed both 'options' in that post, but to the knowledge of Tab's family, neither has happened. And considering the state that Tab is in, I doubt very much she is managing her own money right now.

I will gladly give her the benefit of the doubt... but frankly, an update is required, not appreciated. The accident was in April, which was five months ago. :2 cents:

TaraNBS 09-15-2010 08:04 AM

Okay I have not seen this until just now, so for the people jumping on me. I did not steal it. Tabitha is my daughter's godmother and I love her dearly. On the advice of her best friend, I was holding onto the money for reasons I cannot disclose. I am going to be putting it into a trust fund, so when it does come time, Tabitha herself can access it, but until then it will be able to gain interest. If you have any further questions for me, please feel free to email me, its not like I make it any secret of how to get a hold of me, as my email is in my signature.

nobody can smell the bullshit here :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Her best friend told you to hold onto Tabitha's money, yet Tabitha's family is saying they never got any money, so it means they are completely unaware of this..

sounds like a lot of bs.. put it in a trust fund so she can access it?????? hahahahahaha just say you paid rent with it this month

I do not need to pay rent, this is not BS. I am going to talk to AJ about getting him the money when I get back to Canada, as I am out of town at the moment, and he is in the same city as me but I have emailed AJ about this situation.

i guess here are the questions from your statement:

your deciding to hold onto money that was donated to somebody else - why wouldn't you just give it to the parents? and why cant you disclose why you need to hold money that doesnt belong to you?

you plan to put it into a trust fund to earn interest - its been 5 months and you apparently have not done this yet, if you were that concerned about interest, why wait so long to do it and how long do you expect to have the money in the fund so it earns interest.

its not like its going to be in a trust until she turns 18, why not give to the parents to decide how to best use it to help her?

Agent 488 09-15-2010 09:16 AM

give it to her parents or whoever is taking care of her? weird ...

someone else doesnt buy the BS.. it just doesnt add up.. if people donate money to me you better make sure i have it, and you are not holding it hostage because of my "best friend"

its been many many months

From what I can gather from Facebook posts and from what I've been told directly, I wouldn't be surprised that it hasn't been given to her yet and with good reason.

Sly 09-15-2010 09:23 AM

Not all parents properly take care of their children. I'm not saying that of her parents, I haven't even been following this story, just saying that the obvious answer of "give it to the parents" is not really all that obvious.

Agent 488 09-15-2010 09:26 AM

she must have care givers? unless she is recovered.
