Yep, we grow 'em big over here.

Now I know where not to go.

It's actually a compliment to America. For most of human history, the problem societies always faced is how to feed its growing population in a sustainable manner. America has managed to meld science, mechanization, capital finance and law to create a small corps of extremely efficient farmers that feed millions not just in America but the world over.
"Fatties" issue aside, America should be proud of its agribusiness abilities. Where does my perspective come from? I just came from a medical mission trip helping dirt poor farmers/farm folk in far flung provinces in the Philippines. I saw first hand the ABSOLUTE MISERY the unholy alliance of low capital agriculture, small plots, and low tech can wreak in the lives of people. This is the same story in many Third World countries. This and many other experiences definitely increased my already sizable respect for American farmers. |
Funny all those cities have high populations of negros and beaners
|
Can't say I'd hit it.

Absolute bullshit. The majority of North Americans eat cheap processed foods and Junk. Some for convenience, but mostly as that is all they can afford....which thanks to cooperate America is dirt cheap these days. Go to any city, drive to the poorest part of that town (Fat chubbys all over) Now go to the rich side of town and you will find WAY more fit people....Not be course they work out more, but be course they eat well. Take Vancouver, BC as an example Go to Surrey, fat chunkies that actually make their car look like its doing a 90 degree turn while standing still After that go to West Vancouver.....you will be shocked And that pattern follows almost every mayor city over 1 million in population. EDIT: Add to that the fact that most of what comes out of farms in America is not allowed in Countries such as the EU unless its specially produced for that market "Cleaned up" as in less pesticides used, no gene manipulation etc etc The mass food market in the US and Canada has also caused an emedemic in food related allergies. When i arrived here from Denmark i only ever met 1 person with a Nut allergy, never even knew a friend of a friend with cancer....not even in their remote families. Over here every 5th person have some sort of food allergy, and every 10th person a terminal illness close to them. |

Let me add one more thing....
Its really hard to grasp for people in North America if they havent lived in a western EU country......or the other way arround Subway which is seen as "Not Bad" atleast here in Canada. Its a sandwich place and pretty healthy as in not a HUGE amount of fat and more lettuce etc Where im from Subway lasted about 6 months before they closed down nation wide. They just couldent sell anything as people considered it dirty food, unhealthy and just litterly disgusting! In Canada and the US we believe that today was healthy after gorging on a 1FT SUB |

Its actually a huge problem right now. Everything pumped out is so unhealthy its killing people. Latest problem was Strawberries....they were giving people cancer, that is just 3-4 months ago GREED |

Time to grow your own, but at least I have access to rather clean local produce [think family farms and sold at a co-op]. Strawberries though, who would have know.. .

Bullshit excuse as always :1orglaugh I love what people blame it on everytime they dont want to admit they guzzle like pigs. It DOES NOT matter what you eat, what MATTERS is the fact how much you eat! I can eat in fast food every fucking day, yet I am slim. Count the fuckin calories , keep an eye on your weight and you wont be fat no matter what and where you eat! |
fat used to be a symbol of wealth, now its the opposite

It pretty much really is as simple as what gets exerted vs. what comes in, with the X factor being metabolism being higher for more active people, and in this computer/internet age, people are just on it all the fucking time and don't get enough activity to maintain reasonable metabolism and calorie burn. Combined with thinking a short-term diet is the answer and going on it only to binge off of it and be worse off, most people are pretty well fucked and have to resort to surgeries that didn't even exist a few short decades ago. San Diego has always been one of the more healthier cities...not because the food here is healthier or even that people eat less of it, but because the awesome climate here attracts the more active people. |
Note to self, avoid Texas if I don't want to be smothered.

For example, 200 calories coming from 2 slices of pizza filled with cheese is not same as 200 calories coming from mixed fresh juice of apples and carrots or carrots and orange. :2 cents: |

Yeah, the second one will give you a nice diarrhea. Calories are calories, you will get fat from any meal if you eat like a whale. |
Being fat is genetic, some people just can't help it.

Ohh sure, you gain weight from nothing :-D another excuse for fat cunts.. Its a numbers game. |
It comes down to how much and what they eat (of course!!).
Everytime I am in the US I am astonished at the portion sizes are most of the restaurants. Usually we will order a main between 2 of us and more often than not we can't finish it. The first time I was there, we had breakfast at some really popular eat, and ordered the average breakfast ... well what came out defied belief .. the biggest plate of food i have ever seen in my life. Seriously it was obscene how much food they throw on that plate and this wasn't even the big breakfast! After looking around it seemed hardly anyone in the place was having any trouble finishing these massive plates of food, and shock horror ... most of them were obese. I hate to say it but I hardly saw a single healthy sized black person.. granted the whites werent all in tip top shape. Watching people at eateries, restaurants and in general, you all need to slow down when shoveling mountains of food into your gaping maws ... its like watching starving pigs at feeding time... utterly disgusting. |

Of course it's not genetic. Anybody that shoves more in their gob than they need to for maintaining their current activity levels will increase in size. |
shoving food in your gob is genetic, some people just can't help it.

Researchers found that British children were spending double the amount on sugary products, snacks and treats as those living in the United States.
The research, from Datamonitor, an independent research company, found American children spent just £150 per year on similar treats. More than one in three British children aged five to 13 are already overweight or obese. But that figure is forecast to shoot up by 2.1 per cent a year through to 2014, far higher than the 1.3 per cent annual rise expected for the U.S. |

You mean something like:
"Wanna play golf?" |
Thinking about it now with people posting pics of their fantasy fatso I think part of the blame lies with clothes companies making things big enough for those heffalumps to wear.
If you couldn't buy anything big enough you'd have to stop eating. |
