At first I didnt like this guy, I dont know he just rubbed me the wrong way, but his message is certainly very important. If he does run Ill have to seriously consider giving him my vote, although I believe there are no modern politicians that can save this country as it was.

i love how people are obsessed with earmarks. Usually its big government types railing against smaller government types.

But the truth of the matter is earmarks are only a fraction of the budget, as a mater of fact, big government FRAUD accounts for more of the budget than earmarks.

Bush only played like he was dumb to feed into that whole "I'm a trustworthy regular guy from Texas" image that got him voted in. He is from the North East, raised in a wealthy family and graduated ivy league. It is all an act.

Here's something to consider: I oppose 2257, but that does not mean I am a hypocrite if I comply with 2257. I oppose social security but, that does not mean I am a hypocrite by collecting social security, especially if I paid taxes into social security. If I oppose government-run police and fire, that does not mean I dont use those services. In fact, you can be arrested and punished if you fail to report some crimes or fires, or fail to pay taxes. My religion may allow me more than one wife, but I may be in prison, if I do it.

As long as congress continues to pass massive budgets, then Ron Paul wants some taxes refunded back to Texas, through earmarks. Ron Paul cant issue tax refunds, so earmarks are one of the only ways to send money back to Texas. He always votes against the Federal budget, by the way. If you dont like earmarks for Texas, then tell your congressman to vote against the federal budget, like Ron Paul does, and then no one will get any earmarks.

Of course, we both already know that you dont oppose earmarks on principle. You just want to attack Ron Paul and make him look like a hypocrite, because he is not an ally of socialism/marxism/communism. Isn't that the truth?

But I think you're missing the whole point. I have never voted for an earmark. I voted against all appropriation bills. So, this whole thing about earmarks is totally misunderstood.

The principle of the earmark is our responsibility. We're supposed to ? it's like a ? a tax credit. And I vote for all tax credits, no matter how silly they might seem. If I can give you any of you of your money back, I vote for it. So, if I can give my district any money back, I encourage that.

But, because the budget is out of control, I haven't voted for an appropriation in years ? if ever.
