I saw Howard the Duck when I was a kid and I fucking loved it. Watched it lots of times. Popeye with Robin Williams was a big favorite of mine too so I clearly had shit taste in movies.

That was the first time I ever walked out of a movie theater.

Lol, I loved that movie as a kid. As an adult, I can't stand to watch more than 5 minutes of it.

Howard the Duck was not that bad! COMON!

We love Howard! Okay, yes it was stupid and silly but it is for those exact reasons why we have such an affinity for it. We were actually on the mailing list to be notified when it came out on DVD.

The comic books, on which the film is based, are good fun too.

It knows how dumb it is and that is why it is okay. Any number of the films out there that suck but take themselves too seriously are worse in my book.

I liked it, the monster was cool as hell. You were probably too old for it when you saw it.

I have walked out of a couple movies in my time but the worst movie I've seen lately and possibly ever was the Spirit. Way to butcher a classic comic book.

Yeah, I think age is a key to things. I bet most of us in here saw it when we were young kids. I know that when HBO was still young it only had a few movies that it showed in heavy rotation and that was one of them. So, we know it well.

The worse movie I've ever seen was Pootie Tang. Howard the duck is a masterpiece compared to that pile of crap.

HBO has upped their quality to say the least.

Dollar for dollar, the worst movie ever made is Transformers 2. Sure, Howard The Duck is bad, but it only cost 1/5th of Transformers 2. So using that ratio, to be a worse movie it would have to suck 5x as much. Such extreme levels of suck-age are purely theoretical and would surely result in a blackhole where earth used to be.

Flipping through the channels, you constantly find his movies. Not to mention Fresh Prince.

Give it another couple years and I'm sure all of his recent movies will get constantly play as well.

The last one I saw at a theater was godzilla 1984. Talk about your bad movies, there's one right there.

Same here. I think the age you first experience a movie at has alot to do with how you perceive it as an adult. I have a soft spot for Howard, my sig other had not seen it and when I finally tracked down a copy a few years ago (it wasn't out on DVD until March of last year) I was crushed when he hated it. Not just didn't care for, absolutely hated it. I wanted to punch him in the face :1orglaugh

I think Goonies might be the same way. This was an EPIC movie for me as a wee one. To this day if I see it on TV I will usually watch it and love it just the same as when it came out. One of my best buds is a little over a decade older than me had never seen it. Finally got him to watch it recently and it didn't completely fail but for obvious reasons fell a little flat. I guess you can't expect a movie aimed at 6 to 12 year olds to resonate w/ someone entering their 40s. :1orglaugh

I liked it back in the day. There are so many worse movies.

Worst movie ever is "Cannibal Holocaust 2". Howard the Duck is Oscar worthy compared to that pile.

BUT-
a- it had big white feathery duck titties with pink nipples in the first ten minutes
b- the alien at the end was surprisingly well done. even by today's standards, it doesn't look THAT cheesy.



and for the record, Conan the Destroyer is far worse.

I was so excited to see this movie when they put it on netflix instant view. Needless to say some things you see when you are younger tend to suck ass balls in retrospoect. Agreed this movie could not have been more terrible. Must have been fooled by the duck tits into thinking it was good the first time around.

Sorry, but my "worst of all time" either of the Charlie's Angels movies (especially the second).

They shot it up here in SF. I remember a bunch of my friends were hanging around getting paid as extra's.

But yes it was terrible

Howard was not a good movie, but about half of the drek that the ScyFy channel turns out as Saturday night movies are far worse. Cyclops especially comes to mind, along with Ice Spiders.
