I'm so fucking sick of this type of attitude saying wal mart is enslaving them blah blah blah.. When in truth Wal mart is the only place that has hired more people when other places are laying off in the last year or two. Yes $10 a hour is jack shit but so is the skill level to do the work. I worked at a factory for 12 years up till 2002 when I started doing this full-time and I barely made over $13.50 a hour when I quit and I was a skilled labor that operated heavy machinery. You would think that after 12 years I would be making a lot more than that but guess what that is life and it's just a fact that unless you go to college and work in offices or find a career like this then you are going to get paid little money as general laborer.


yes walmart is still bad cause it puts mom and pop stores out of biz but hey that's life and I'd rather buy from walmart or Amazon anyday over paying double what things cost at some places

Why would someone that only makes $10/hour have 3 kids? I thought it was bad enough when the government had to pass out digital converter boxes because TV is a right protected under the constitution, should they save people that have too many kids too? People shouldn't have more kids than they can afford. Unless you get very sick or have a terrible divorce nothing will ever cost you more.

$500k is SALES not profit. Typical wal-mart makes about 5% pre-tax profit. So that's maybe $25k.

boo hoo such is life. i think everyone has a similar walmart story. after my divorce 2yrs ago i was in sink or swim mode living in canada... i could not legally work up there yet due to my US immigration status, so i delivered newspapers in -40 degree icy snowstorm weather for $0.10 per paper, and I had a route consisting of 75 houses which needed their papers in their mailbox by 8am. they were rich motherfuckers in big country houses too, so they were all set back about 1/2 an acre from the road and you couldn't just toss the paper on the lawn like you do in the US, you had to trudge uphill icy slope driveways and put it right in their mailbox. all this for $7.50cad per morning for about 3hrs of work in bone chilling elements. Thats not even $2usd per hour. Fortunately I got some sense knocked into me after getting frostbite and losing sensations in my fingertips for about 6 months, got fired without pay from the newspaper (why not, i'm an illegal alien with no rights lol) then i got a got a job at an indian casino right on the us border... things kinda fell into place after that

I am not trying to be funny, or mean, or anything negative, but the Wal-Mart next to my house has a handicap guy as the Manager and I saw him attacking a customer because she had a dog in her purse. The lady had full shopping cart with at least 400$-500$ worth of shit and he went crazy enough to send her out the door. She even called the police...

While I do agree Wal-Mart is a piece of shit to work for, but at the same they employ people who couldn't get jobs elsewhere...

Do you ever notice the people who work at Wal-Mart? At least all the ones in my area are either college kids who work there part time for money while they are in school, or old people who have since retired from their long time jobs and just do it for something to get out of the house for, since it's such an easy job.

The greeter guy at the Wal-Mart in my old town gets paid $10+ hour to greet people as they walk in, and thank them as they walk out... Why does he do that? Because he worked 30+ years at a labor intense job with his hands and retired, gets a pretty good fucking retirement check every month, probably more then your washer and dryer hustling ass gets in a year. But doesn't want to sit on his ass until he dies because he doesn't NEED to work. So he went to Wal-Mart and makes extra cash greeting people.

I can fell it... in Poland it's the same story or even worse.. Common slave earn $2-$4 an hour (this is too less to pay taxes, fuel, medicines and food) while some doctors, priests, politics or company owners may earn 1000$+ a fuckin day! Some poor people may be smart but whatever, they have no chances to afford good education or to develop their own business because of the lack of money... that's why I left this shit and I have chosen different way...

I know 2 people who work at Wal-Mart in my current city.. One is a shoplifter catcher, he walks around the store acting like an actual customer and checks for shoplifters. The other is a shift manager, both of them make good money, the shift manager actually worked her way up.

I've been to walmart five or six times, all year, and spent a total of about $50 there.
And the point of this thread isn't WAL MART!! It's everyone in the country working for absolutely nothing but a hopeless future instead of being willing to have the guts to give a fuck about what is going on!!
