Per day milk consumption?

Curious how much milk per day you go through and type, I will even allow fake milks into this like soy milk.

I will bust myself. At home I use mason jars, I use the pint, quart, and two quart size mason jars and I rather like the blue tinted wide mouth 2 quart mason jar.
Only other cups I use are my aluminum colored cups from the 50's, which I also have the pitcher, ice cube trays, ice cream trays, and some assorted serving dishes from.

When it comes to milk it must be Whole milk. The milk MUST come from either Raley's or Trader Joe's. Unless it is 2am or latter or I am away from such stores. Then I will settle on any brand, and even will go down to 2% or low fat.

Each meal I go through a 32 ounce mason jar. Just with breakfast I will add enough carnation instant breakfast to it to properly blend it. Which if your curious, that is 4 packages worth and yes a shit load of calories.
Come lunch and add in another 32 ounce jar, same with dinner. I will also add in about 2-3 of them full of water too.

So what you consumer?
Will people just flame cause they equate it with cow puss?
The lactose intolerant can talk of soy milk, butter milk, or whatever else they use.

I am just real curious and its been on my mind most of the day. They have the little cartons we used to get in school. I add like 4 minimum per meal and still feel as if I am missing out.

okny 11-14-2009 04:23 AM

I can drink about 2-3 8oz cups of any type of milk.

theking 11-14-2009 04:30 AM

I drink a minimum of 1 gallon per day...usually more. I cannot swallow real food so it has to be in liquid form...such as cream of whatever soup...pudding etc. Milk is primarily what keeps me alive and fortunately I like it.

digifan 11-14-2009 04:33 AM

I like milk and plain, natural yogurt. Also, goat milk is fine too.

quiet 11-14-2009 04:36 AM

yogurt is my thing too. don't really drink much milk, other than when mixed into meals my girl makes.

BTW...whole milk and it is the local diary brand. I also drink butter milk but in much less amounts.

kane 11-14-2009 04:41 AM

I don't drink milk at all. I like cereal, but I have soy milk in it. Regular milk has one purpose, to take a 50 pound calf and turn it into a 600 pound cow as fast as possible.

theking 11-14-2009 04:42 AM

I too use the carnation instant breakfast as well as a protein mix.

theking 11-14-2009 04:48 AM

I also drink a ton of coffee and cokes thru out the day and night. Because of pain I can only sleep a couple of hours at a time so I really don't have a day and night schedule...it all is just a blend.

d-null 11-14-2009 05:07 AM

of late I only drink Raw Milk, otherwise I don't drink it at all... love raw milk though but I usually only drink it once a week or two

I know I like this already, just know better that to get it again in the last year. I have really started to develop some hardcore food obsessions as of late.

I knew we would have at least 1 if not more comments about what it is for, making a calf into a cow/bull.

L-Pink 11-14-2009 06:11 AM

Maybe a cup a day with cereal.

Jdoughs 11-14-2009 06:12 AM

Soon as you said Soy Milk I heard Lewis go off the deepend in my head.

punkpred 11-14-2009 06:14 AM

Whatever I use to put in my cerial, 2 cups of coffee and whatever they put in 250 mlt of yogurt.

Three words: Bovine Growth Hormone

It has been banned in every major country except for the US, where it was quickly approved without much research.

The makers of it even tried to pay off Canadian officials:

I don't drink milk. Don't really like it. I'll put it on cereal though.

I drink a lot of orange juice with calcium citrate and vitamins A+D in it. The "Kids" version :1orglaugh

pornguy 11-14-2009 02:58 PM

I drink Lala Shelf milk and between me and my son we drink about 4 gallons a week

Not even close to what I should. I used to love milk growing up on a farm in bumfuck Wisconsin, would go and get it straight out of the balk tank, but since moving off, I probably drink milk once or twice a month. :(

First off most milk producers use rBGH free as a selling point as most Americans are not to keen on buying it. They make it pretty pronounced on the labels. I have yet to even try the stuff. Guessing it may be used in some of the cheaper milk brands or something. Curious now if it could be sold at places like Wal Mart (I do not shop there for food items).

I am aware the hormone people tried to pay of some Canadian officials. That ended in a small scandal. Though you did fail to mention that many think that it also is sort of like crack for cows and seems to be linked to mad cow or Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy.

It also is banned in Europe too. You just seemed to gloss over in your research that 95% of all dairy farmers in the US also boycott it. I had to look up actual percentage, figured it would of been lower as I am so used to human greed.

PurrrsianPussyKat 11-14-2009 03:59 PM

We go through about a gallon a day. Every time I go to the store I buy 3 gallons.

MaDalton 11-14-2009 05:52 PM

1 litre per day of low fat milk (1,5%)

i think i am addicted cause i get grumpy when i don't have milk in my fridge

None.

Are humans the only mammals that think they need to drink milk?

Do any others do it?

This is a common vegetarian question to kind of attempt to fuck with omnivores. Yeah I know many vegetarians also eat dairy but you know what I mean, perhaps vegans.

OK technically humans are the only "mammals" that drink milk in the way humans drink it - Will get back to that latter. They not are the only that "think" it though. Most all baby versions of mammals drink milk and seek it out. Kittens drink milk, cats will drink it but they are technically lactose intolerant like most adult mammals. So yes many mammals think they need to drink it.

Humans more than likely started drinking milk when they moved from hunter gather tribes to an agricultural based type of tribe. Many actually think and are more than likely correct that we started off lactose intolerant as a whole. Agricultural societies then changed that. Again some think that those that are lactose intolerant today joined the agricultural folks much latter in the course of human existence. Those that are not were those that began to grow crops, herd animals, and stay in one place earlier.

Now back to your question again.
Technically humans are the only species to do lots of things though. Then we also share a few talents with as little as 1 species which include making their own food from another product - which we share with bee's. Now that is out of the way we shall head over to female barbary macaques (a primate) who for whatever reason drink their own breast milk, by choice if they loose a baby or when grieving. (well not for whatever reason, breast feeding reduces stress by releasing a chemical into the females body).

Then going back to other species. There are assorted breeds of ants that have their favorite type of plant and on it they selectively allow so many aphids to live, even though aphids kill plants. The reason for this though is so those ants can harvest the milk from the aphids to consume.

haven't drank any in about 16 years. the last time i did was about 13 years ago and i felt like i was gonna die. i got no prob putting water on cereal (WN style) but vanilla soy is the shit with cinnamon life cereal!

I should try it that way. I mean the vanilla soy that way. Maybe not on cinnamon life cereal as it sometimes gives me heartburn for some odd reason.

I do not have issues with soy products, well that is a lie. I do often not like many of the soy "imitation" products. To be fair I do not like most any imitation products at all, even if it is not a vegetarian version. Many diabetic ones suck, imitation krab almost always sucks, imitation chocolate sucks well maybe it isnt imitation but it is carob chips and although it is not chocolate it is passed off as chocolate. It however is dog safe unlike chocolate, but my dog wont eat it.

I do like silken tofu and one of the others which escapes my brain right now. It is not the firm tofu though. Do not see the purpose of buying firm at all. You can achieve it by just weighing down either of the other grades and let them drain some.

Because this particular sub forum is and always has been about fucking around and then program discussion which includes censored business talk. Ever since month 1 of this places existence what made it really stand out was that it was more like a water cooler for those in the industry. Where the other boards were more strict and tried to make people talk about things. These kind of talks are what do keep the board moving and very active. Without them the board would crawl to a slow pace.

I do participate in many business threads and I also start a bit of them too. I just do not want to talk business all of the time and judging by most peoples replies, number of views, and every other indicator on such threads by anyone - most would agree.

My milk consumption depends on the amount of cereal I eat. If I smoke a lot of weed and its late at night, my favorite snack is a bowl of cereal and a bowl might be the whole box, so that would be about .25 gallons of milk? How many liters is that since I made a vow to start using the metric system. SO, milk consumption is at about half a gallon a day.

Little less than 3.8 in a gallon so .95 to 1 liter depending on how well I remember the metric system in liquid form.

that sucks you get heartburn. eden soy vanilla is the only type of milk replaced i like. the rice milks are too thin and sweet. the odd thing is i can eat ice cream and cheese no problem, but after sucking down a glass of milk i felt so aweful i knew that was my last one.

i like firm tofu cuz i find it easier to deal with if i want to make tacos or sloppy joes. it crumbles much nicer.

your trolling is weak. infant mammals all drink milk from their mothers.

we are the only mammal that keeps doing it after it is unnecessary.

you need to go back to troll school. i'm sure you can check under your local bridge for more info.

No I meant the cinnamon life cereal, not the vanilla soy.

As for the tofu, I just usually buy the middle version (fucking name is alluding me), wrap it, and weigh it down a tiny amount. In about 15 minutes it is about the same as firm tofu. I learned this after first making miso soup and not wanting to waste all the extra tofu. Did a quick search online and saw how it was made in the first place and some suggestions.

I HAVE to have a glass with every meal for the last several years for some reason. Even when I get fast food I'll order a little thing of milf instead of a Mt. Dew or whatever. Usually 1 or 2%. It's a weird craving that I don't want to eat with out milk lately. I wish I knew what caused it.

What I think is really bad.
I actually know the milk fat percentages at the major fast food chains, at least in CA in my area. KFC/A&W comes in the best with whole.
