I hate email

I used to enjoy checking my email. Now I go a couple of days. I get so many freakin virus emails, my antivirus goes nuts. The spam is a nightmare too. Somehow it has gotten to my personal email also. What email programs are the best out there? I am using Outlook for the biz stuff and Outlook express for personal.

I can't say which is the best, but use something other than outlook(express). Most viruses are targeted to these major email programs. try download.com, there u can find something, and I hope, that u will find free one too.

It really bytes to have several working domains and have to check mail for each of them. I will check that out tho...thank you :)

Same here. My email is almost worthless at ths point. I'd be surprised if for every 100 emails that came in, 5 were not spam or viruses.

I got Mail Washer a few weeks ago. Works great. :) It just downloads the headers, and you can delete all the crap you don't want. Has a blacklist and spam detection too. Pretty good stuff.

me too. :(
I get prolly 150 emails a day to all my domains and some days every single one is a virus or a spam.

For a while, as an experiment, I deleted my name off every list by clicking the "click here to delete your email address" link. sure enough, it didn't even break pace.

your emails are posted on websites somewheres probly this or another webmaster board.

if you put...lets say.. [email protected] :evil-laug
on a popular ranked site like gfy its gonna get harvested fast as fuck.
id post some links to these programs but why promote it.

I use Outlook. Used to use Eudora Pro. I think that is still around and its less prone to receiving viruses.

What virus scanner are you using? Be sure to have a solid firewall in place as well. And keep your Virus .dat files current.

McAfee's update usually every Wednesday, sometimes twice per week. So many people forget or don't this at all. I was at a friends house and checked her virus scan and her virus .dat files were from 1999, 3 years old. Like Hello???

It's really simple.

First you need to go and get a smart email client that wont dick you like Outlook does.

1. Go get The Bat!

Here are some features:

- Support for an unlimited number of accounts and users

- Fully customizable message templates that save hours of typing

- Powerful filtering for automated message handling

- Support for S/MIME and PGP versions from 2.6x through 6.5

- Mail Dispatcher for managing email on remote servers

- Simultaneous mail processing in the background for all accounts

- Familiar Explorer-style folders for organizing messages

- Easily configurable user interface with message preview option

- Built-in HTML email viewer and message editor with spell-as-you-go

- Sophisticated address book for storing all personal information

- Unique Mail Ticker? for email notification

- Multi-lingual interface supporting 15 languages on the fly

- Import message bases from all major email clients

- Many more features for managing email quickly and easily...

2. Set up all your email accounts

3. Set up some folder categories and filters to store them in.

The main filter you want is the main '[email protected]' folder. You'd be amazed that 90% of spam isnt personally addressed to you in the to field.

All the real and legitimate non-virusy emails will end up in your main folder, and the junk goes into the inbox.

Good Luck. :ak47:
