It sure does, and the fact that it's designed for multimedia developers is just what I've been waiting for...

It has potential, but the applications still need a lot of work... Kino is not really comparable to even the most basic windows video editors :( I'm forced to use Cinelerra even though it's unstable and buggy as hell, but at least I can get the job done.

Other apps like GIMP of course have been pro quality for years. Someone just has to put that level of effort into the video side.

I agree, these are all terrific steps in the right direction = a viable option to Win/Mac.

I am planning on dl'ing and installing on a scap pc. We use the hell out of vegas, so I wonder what the performance is on linux, if it's faster or not? Mind you, I know NOTHING about any linux video editing software.

That'll be interesting to track for sure. Ideally, I'm going for the stripped-down hot rod with no bells and whistles, just raw performance. Just finished my download, I'll be experimenting over here on a spare as well...
