I talked with a bodybuilder who has a killer 8 pack. he's always eating strawberries and cherries. And sometimes grapefruits, apples, and bananas.
He said cherries are better for you than blueberries.
he also snacks on almonds, chobani yogurt, raw pumpkin seeds and sometimes cottage cheese

bleh!

Pears are pretty under rated, and some good pear crisp is awesome.

Googled and this is the first recipe I came across:

I'd say persimmons :2 cents:

bronco67 08-20-2009 12:06 AM

Mango is underrated, probably because there's an extremely small window when its good. When a Mango is ripe, there's nothing better. I'll eat that fucker like a goddamn slobbering savage, and I don't care who sees me do it.

mlove 08-20-2009 12:07 AM

Kiwi man

Dirty Dane 08-20-2009 12:07 AM

Me too... I was fine eating them, until one day somebody mentioned they were in the poison ivy family, and now i get rashes whenever i touch that fruit! It's so good, i usually don't care, and eat it anyways.

why aren't berries fruit?

Calico Jack 08-20-2009 12:23 AM

My favourite fruits are ripe pears and peaches, however I do have a thing for rambutans and mangosteens when I can get them.

It is same botanic family, but in context I personally do not think of it as "fruit". As apples and bananas... Nuts are also fruit, but I do think of it only as... nuts. Even if the biology is universal, the language, daily use of the words, differs from countries. I do not exactly know what is common usage of the words in english speaking countries, and I have never given it a thought. Until now :)

Makingcoin 08-20-2009 12:29 AM

Well... depends on how you look at it. Is a tomato a fruit, or is a berry a vegetable?

Well, here we say 'fruits and berries'. But in biology, it is all fruit. Also some vegetables are fruit.

Dirty Dane 08-20-2009 12:37 AM

I like bakeapples, but they are hard to get here :(

I've always thought of a tomato as a berry, and an avacado as a fruit like an apple or a peach.

Apples. They have 7 times more antioxidants in them than green tea, and more than any other fruit.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Too true. Fuji Apples are the best imho.

CharlieBrown 08-20-2009 03:59 AM

blackberries with vanilla sauce and ice cream is a favourite here

BaldBastard 08-20-2009 04:02 AM

Anyfruit, but it has to be home grown and ripened on the vine. Grapes are an example, you have never really eaten then til you have pinched a bunch off someones vine on a hot summers day and popped them one by one.

Fletch XXX 08-20-2009 06:14 AM

We have blackberry vines that run the entire length of our backyard fence down here. Been growing there since before i was born... So many grow its impossible to pick them all, I freeze bags of them and eat them all year round.

Sarah_Jayne 08-20-2009 06:44 AM

ha..I was totally coming in here to say blackberries.

We just picked a ton of wild ones and stuck them in the freezer. I then defrost a bit every week to go on my morning cereal. Good stuff.

I love pears. I love apple crisp so I will have to try the pear crisp. I also like taking a can of pears, drain them really good and drizzle them with cream cheese icing and sprinkle with cinnamon. Its incredible.

SykkBoy 08-20-2009 07:58 AM

blackberries, when in season
and when in season, nothing better than a good strawberry...such a difference in taste between strawberries in season and greenhouse grown strawberries...

Tom_PM 08-20-2009 08:22 AM

Peppers are berries too, but not too fruity. Wild berries are great. Can't go wrong with a banana either.

Yanto 08-20-2009 08:28 AM

I LOVE THOSE MANGOSTEEN YUMMY ..but becareful of the purple stain that fruit leaves on your clothing..

miss_bellabellini 08-20-2009 08:34 AM

Guavas are delicious and hard to find in Canada.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guava

Figs are also fantastic with cheese but they are expensive and usually only sold at fancy food markets. They used to grow like weeds back home in South Africa, so I hate paying $10 for 3 figs. And gooseberries are my favourite berry:)

Sid70 08-20-2009 08:35 AM

We use to have fresh blackberries that grew in the woods right behind us. We use to pick them for months and freeze them. Made the best blackberry cobbler.

Was always hard to not eat all of them when you were picking them! : )

ExLust 08-20-2009 09:12 AM

Mango and blackberry.
