50 fruits

I've been pretty big on berries lately as well. They make a great snack because you don't need to commit to a large piece of fruit. Just pop them in your mouth and stop when you don't want anymore.

though - peaches are in season right now and i pick up a bag of them every saturday at the farmers market i do always keep some type of berries in the fridge each week though. whether it's raspberries blackberries or strawberries really just depend on the prices at the time of purchase |

Blackberries are also high in fiber... so you can eat them when you're doing a low calorie diet... they are a low glycemic food.. and do not spike your insulin much :)

As a kid we used to raid a neighbors raspberrys and till today they would be my fav.
But a hot car does a number on them quick if you get from a lil roadside stand. Blackberries are great too. |

I'm in the mango camp - they are too good. Pears also underrated for taste and apples for health benefits.

speaking of fruit, I am a habanero (yes its a fruit) freak and have been harvsting my own organic habanero for my sauces, and salsas. yum yum yum, have some drying right now and will be chopping quite a few more today.
one of the best tasting peppers, but you have to get used to the hot first to be able to really enjoy them... i have pics... i need to make a blog entry anyway, lemme do that then ill post... |
K I took this pic yesterday preparing some habaneros to be sliced up for own of my dishes, figured I would share since we talking about underated FRUITS and Habaneros is one of the best tasting, but you gotta get past the hot to appreciate it, can take years to get used to it, but once you do, its sooooo tasty!!!
http://www.congratstothewinners.com/...-habaneros.jpg http://www.congratstothewinners.com/...habaneros.html I make my own hot sauces, salsas, and all kinds of seasoning and family and friends are constantly asking me for it! ALWAYS wear your gloves! |

My best friend's wife was constantly giving us mangos for the past few months while they were in season here. Her neighbors have a bunch of mango trees and they don't eat them. Anyone in the Miami area who likes mangos should check out the Intl. Mango Festival at the Fairchild Gardens in Coral Gables. It happens in mid July. |
Love blackberries

Kumquats - Had a tree in my yard with those and my garderners always picked them off the tree for me as they thought they were delicious. Personally I found them to be very strange... :2 cents: |
