Have you bought your first house yet?
Simple question.
I am in a 2room, with kitchen apartment. And I am sick of it. I currently take care of my friends house as she is out of town. I love it. |

Nope,not yet,am not in a hurry,bizz comes first:)
|
Yes. Last year.
4 BR, 2 BATH, just over 2,000 sq feet two story. Also have put $16,000 into improvements so far. |
i started having my first house built in early 2006 and we moved in exactly 2 years ago
about 5000 sq ft with all the trimmings... we love every day here :) |
I bought a condo about six months ago for a rental property about six months ago. After property taxes, insurance, etc, I'm making a small profit. In fact, this morning we were on Zillow.com looking for another one.

Under contract to purchase my first place :)

Bought my 1st house when I was 19 years old. I now have two rental's and a house in Gilbert AZ. : )
|
I bought a townhouse pre-construction in 2000, and then sold it in 2007. Then bought a bigger place for the family to grow-up in.

I bought mine back in 2003, almost have it paid off... almost ;) Still want to gut my kitchen and maybe build a dock out on the lake, so I might dip into my equity a little there.
Now is a GREAT time to buy. If you're income is stable I say go for it. |
not yet but still hoping

My wife and me bought our first house when I was 21. Exactly 25 years later I´m making plans for my retirement. And if I´m lucky it will work. |
bought three years ago at the age of 24
|
Funny thing I offered to buy the place I linked a year ago and the builder wouldn't accept the offer... A year later the bank foreclosed on his construction loan for 5 houses (that being one of them). So the bank took my offer of $100k less than my previous offer!
WIN! |
For me it looks like far dream for now. But I hope things are going to change.
|
Not yet... I'm homeless :(
|
I've owned 2 homes so far and 3 empty land type of properties. Bought my first home at age 25
|
I had my house built for me about 2 years ago. 5 BDR, 3 BATH, 2 CAR GARAGE, OFFICE ROOM, 2800 sq feet and a two story house. Enjoying it very much too. :)
I also own another house that is 3 BDR, 2 BATH, 1 CAR GARAGE, 1800 sq feet and one story. |
Those of you living in Arizona, NOT in Phoenix but perhaps near it (going away from the border), what is the market like?

Thanks! It being my first house I'm pretty excited... and stressed :P I love the view and while you can't tell from the pics that downstairs room is 1,800 sq/ft... the bathroom has what the builder described as a "party shower"... seats 3 and room for about 8, hahhaa... photo op! Someone bring the girls and the camera, I'll provide the shower, the water, and the bubbles :P

Lived in my own place(s) for the last 16 years - I could never go back to an apartment
|
Where is that house? NC?
|
Yep, bought a place we couldn't afford but made it work by renting out the basement.
Best thing I ever did. I love working on my house. |
In my 4th house at the moment. Think we'll be staying here too.

I wanna build my own but need to decide where (wanna move back to Wales) and find some land :) xx
|
First house was in 1984. Bought the one I live in now in 1997 (thanks to my website). Paid it off when the accountant told me it wasn't cost effective to keep a loan on it (was going to buy it outright but they thought it would help on the taxes to do a loan). Built a vacation home on a sandy private beach on the Washington coast in 2003. Stay in it occassionally, but mostly rent it out by the week.
|
I'm in a 2 bedroom flat at the moment, but hopefully in 2 weeks i'll also have a 5 bedroom 3 storey house, can't wait for the extra space.
|
there are no incentives and not many foreclosures over here that would make it worth looking into it for me. i move every 3 or 4 years and i would hate to deal with a bought house - like having to sell it. and i wouldn't want to rent it either, i know how houses can look like if you get the wrong people into it. so i rather stay independent, rent small apartments cause i dont need much space and rather invest my money in more fun things. :)
|
Bought a townhouse 8 years ago.
|
Looking at my 5th. The foreclosure market is just insane right now.
|
Does a crack-house count?
|
bought it 9 years ago, been remodeled twice, have it rented out, but I may move back there in a year
|
Yes a while back..
|
Not yet, I just bought my first new car.
Hoping to start with a townhouse maybe next year. |
I bought and paid off my first house with the property, garden etc. It is not huge but comfy and it is enough to pay the bills.
