I was just wondering if anyone here needed anyone to submit their TGP galleries for them for a set weekly/every 2 week payment.

This could give you time to focus on other things.

If you've already got a G.A.S.S. database that you use, you could send me that and I will submit to your list.

If not, I can submit you to my current list with any modifications/additions you want.

Pricing depends on the amount of TGPs in the list.

So you are using someones elses program, and then charging people for you to use that program.

Can't see why. GASS is only a tool to aid hand submitting.

More worrying is the possible BL's people will get as it may look like spam with the same IP address showing up on multiple submits.

Either way though, tough way to make a living and boring as hell.

I do not see how I could get in trouble, G.A.S.S. is paid for and is only to make hand submitting easier.

To get around the same IP address, each person I pick up would have a proxy assigned to them.

So whenever it's time to submit that persons galleries, I use that persons proxy. So everyone still gets their own galleries submitted from one IP address.

That's OK if you're using very obscure proxies or you may find the same prob.

Good luck with it though. Like I say, rather you then me :)

Using the GASS name is most likely enough to get you questioned.

YOu not oly use their software name to get jobs, you use it to get attention.

The proxy situation should not be a problem at all, and if it were to become one, then you can just stop paying me to submit you stuff.

In that case, I would email any TGPs giving you troubles and explain the situation to them. They should remove the blacklist. I wouldn't just leave you hanging.

I have been doing this for one person for quite some time now, and he seems happy with the results. If need be, you could contact him. I will only give out his information if he says it's OKay, which I am sure he will.

Won't post it on the board though, but could email/ICQ it to anyone needing it.

It's probably the way I have my monitor set to cut back on the headaches from glare but it's more or less unreadable to me.

All I said was that I would be using the software. I never said that I would get you a free copy, that I am affiliated with them, or that I have desires to register a domain name with their programs name in it.

Anyone can buy/download their software. I see no where that it says that it can not be used to submit more than one gallery a day.

It is a list created by the person I submit galleries for.

Best you don't bother really 'cause you both will continue to make absolutely no sense at all. Strangest idea I've ever heard - not being allowed to use a program for doing stuff it was designed to do. Perhaps reality shifted somewhere and you're both living in a different world from me.

Like I say though. Makes no diff. to me. Just struck me as a really daft idea that you shouldn't use it and still does.

I had exactly the same thought as Fletch and probably many other people did when G.A.S.S was mentioned. I'm sure that license clause covers that kind of deal, and if I dug deeper I'd probably find more.

I'll give you a hint - the license on the software is for one user, one computer, no rental or resale of use.

Darksoft does not write its software for commercial use.

Yup. Same goes for people who buy Photoshop through a student program. Fine, you get it for $30 or so, but it's not licensed for commercial use.

The mags I used to work for had a closet with stacks (and I mean STACKS) of Adobe boxes and Quark manuals. This is back before multi-licensing.

You're still making no sense at all. It is only gonna be used on one computer. The guys not offering to sell the program to other people. He's using it to do the job it was intended for - he's using it on one PC to help him with his work ie submitting galleries for people. If someone wants to pay him for his time using it how would that be a problem? If the GASS guy gets pissed at someone doing that for whatever reason then it still seems plain daft to me - but it's his shout. Neither of your arguments do or will stand up though as far as I'm concerned. GASS remains a tool to assist hand submitting and nothing else. What the people are paying for is the time and effort it takes the guy to hand submit.

How I submit them? That is my business. I own a copy of G.A.S.S., if I want to use it to help me get my work done (which is what it was meant for) why can't I do this?

I am not saying I will give you a copy for XX amount of dollars a week, that would be renting it.

I am offering a service, and to aid me with that service I am using G.A.S.S.

So, it's okay to make money using someone else's software product when the paying party has not bought a license for said product, or is licensed to use it in any way, remotely or installed?

Heck - you can look at it another way. Say I'm thinking about buying that bit of software, but this guy pops up and offers to use his copy for me and I don't have to buy it. He makes money using it, the author looses a sale from me.



People used to try this line for selling items or characters in Everquest. They'd put on the auction that you weren't buying the account (which you'd never paid a license fee for or to use at all) but you were paying them for their time in creating the account.

It didn't last long. At the end of the day, Verant owned the software and you simply had a one use, no rental or resale clause there too.
