_Richard_ 02-27-2009 01:51 PM

Mohawk Steve 02-27-2009 01:55 PM

Tom_PM 02-27-2009 02:03 PM

Nah it's very do-able with a plan in place, dont listen to the negative nellies.

I smoked even after my heart attack for a time, but I still did manage to quit for good. :) If I can, anyone can.

CaptainHowdy 02-27-2009 02:08 PM

On Friday? That's self-confidence!

teh ghey 02-27-2009 02:10 PM

I just visited a friend who just survived a heart attack a month ago (Jan 09). The doctors say it was 100% from smoking. Not from diet or anything.

When you smoke it constricts your arteries, so blood cant get thorough.
So he was telling me he was at Mass General and the doctor was going up his body with a wire (or whatever) they put in his leg that went up to his heart to try and open his arteries up more, WHILE HE WAS AWAKE. He said he felt like his chest was going to burst. He said the whole ordeal was very painful, from the heart attack to the medical work done.

He said he threw the fucking cigarettes out. He's had health scares and gone to Mass General from smoking before, I think he has a minor stroke once, but this time he's really lucky to be alive.

Itchy 02-27-2009 02:11 PM

Lots of luck to you Im trying the zyban way and its not working that great I cut back a lot but still smoke everyday :X

TurboAngel 02-27-2009 02:11 PM

Loch 02-27-2009 02:19 PM

Monday will be 1 month for me :thumbsup
Not even half as hard as i thought it would be

aniloscash 02-27-2009 05:06 PM

good luck. I'm gonna recommend once you get to 10 days never cheat. one cig ends up being a pack and then your right back to where you started the addictions comes back quicker then it left.

skrinkladoo 02-27-2009 05:12 PM

I quit 11 days ago. Smoked for over 15 years, and it was easy ... funky trick, but it worked. I went to the store and bought Hawkens (bubble gum of smokeless tobacco), every time i wanted a cig, i had a dip. 2 tubs total ... 2nd one is still more than half full, and its been 5 days since i wanted that shit either. No smoking, no dip, no shit. It worked for me, might not work for you ... but either way good luck.

PornMD 02-27-2009 05:21 PM

You should not say "I am quitting smoking today" but "I am quitting smoking for the rest of my life". :)

Good luck with it...it's all about realizing that most of the agony from not smoking is merely from the addiction TO smoking and the nicotine and that it will be gone if you tough through the first few days.

munki 02-27-2009 06:05 PM

duuuuuuude, this is when you are gonna want a smoke the most. keep one of those red straws in your drinks and chew on the end of it while holding most of it. you need a replacement to get you through. you can do it, talk to AJ from Loaded Cash. he quit right before the Vegas show in Jan. and didn't fuck up once during the show. he was wearing a patch as i recall. Beth will back you up. she should come up with a sexual reward and a punishment system for you. make the process fun for yourself

I quit about 5 years ago, but not before getting a cronic case of COPD. Since then my life has been down hill in that department.

If you smoke, think about smoking, or just stopped ... Remember this, the shit does fuck ya up

I used to smoke two packs a day. Now I only smoke when I am mega wasted.

I am sure that if I can stop, you can too.

Now drinking that's another story.......

tony286 02-27-2009 09:42 PM

lung cancer took my dads life. I wish you success with quitting.

MrMaxwell 02-27-2009 09:49 PM

Drinking acidifies the urine.. like stress does... causes nicotine to leave you more quickly. Once you're out of withdrawl, urine acidifying goes un-noticed. 90% of people who try nicotine replacements fail at quitting. Smoking only "feels good" because nicotine has a 30 minute half-life. So as a smoker, you're in beginning stages of withdrawl 90% of the time. Then something bad happens, the stress makes you lose nicotine and go into withdrawl. You smoke thinking it helped that or felt good. But it only helped or felt good because it got the withdrawl off of your back.

This is the only site out there with 100% truths about smoking.
Good luck.
You can fuck alot more, get harder, and cum alot harder without smoking

MrMaxwell 02-27-2009 09:51 PM

It sneaks the fuck up on you, too..

If you can't beat it, try the electronic cigarette..
Gets rid of 90% of the risk
No combustion, no nitrosamines, no carcinogens
http://e-cig.com
Get the injector needle and buy the solution by the bottle
!!Buy extra atomizers!!

The smoke is SMOOTHE AS HELL and you won't even ever want to smoke a harsh terrible combustion cigarette, again, do that for a week and a regular cigarette will make you gag.

SomeCreep 02-27-2009 10:09 PM

Smoking causes pancreatic cancer.

chelis 02-27-2009 10:19 PM

Closing on 12 hours...

LBBV 02-28-2009 07:47 AM

I've smoked on and off for about 30 years and I quit on Monday. I am now on day 6 with no cigarettes. I'm using Chantix and it helps a lot...takes the edge off for sure. I'm taking it one day at a time right now and so far have not cheated once. I keep telling myself "I can beat these little bastards" and you can too...

No...CHANTIX tablets contain the active ingredient, varenicline (as the tartrate salt), which is a partial agonist selective for α4β2 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor subtypes.

An agonist is a drug that binds to a receptor of a cell and triggers a response by the cell. An agonist often mimics the action of a naturally occurring substance.

An agonist produces an action. It is the opposite of an antagonist which acts against and blocks an action.

i have always thought it was silly to use drugs to stop using drugs.

but hey good luck, you can do it without the pills.
