This is the professional response I got from this person Christopher Gotzmann of Pacific Rack after going on day #3 of what I guess has been a failed hard drive experience, tbh, not even sure that this is the problem, its actually quite common for this OS, to spew out controller errors on a certain kernel.. and quite frankly the server really didnt do nothing, but I dont even think they even checked anything.. dont really care about this story i am here to pllage and plunder...I did enjoyed this last hoora though..

Now, the only question i have, is why is this fuckhead even responding to me, I already cancelled service and told em what I think, and all this afer I just read a post on how Pacific Rack can handle badgering and are so professional on WHT, lol what a complete unprofessional.

You assumed I don't have a backup??? Who the fuck said this? Did you even ask if I had a backup? Do you even know how to perform a backup yourself is a better question after all I am the customer, you are the service provider... This is rented equipment from what I am looking at.. Let me guess, you bleed your servers till they die die die, and dont even do proper fresh hard drive installs while storing oldies in secure vault for new customers, the way real ISP's work? No you need to milk that $20 120 gig drive for every spin cycle advertised on the "Hi-Tec Brand Name Drives" label that you install in your crap servers right?

This place has always been a joke of a service. 3 day replies on ICQ, power problems galore.. I really do recommend them! lolz

and I've had a hard drive go on a different host for me in the past, shit happens and of course one expects the host company to get a new drive in asap when the problem is discovered

yeah, im new here, just crawled out of the cave, sorry i didnt catch up on the 1.2 billions posts made over the past 5 years yet.. bet i can do it before PR can replace a drive though

hd's do fail im guessing you just pissed off about how much effort they made to recover data from your unmanaged server.

So go find yourself a fully managed host and stop bitching.

Tip:
Always keep a check on the output of 'dmesg'.... don't just plug in a server and forget about it....

for example, mine recently:

And on doing what the system told me, I found a few probs with my HD. They just duped its contents to a new drive and replaced the faulty drive.

Sure saved me some headaches down the line...

But not only HD die, also machines and hackers are making every die a risk to your sites.

Hmmm yesterday had small problem with a server
Send a ticket (icq is for a hosting company not the way to communicate) and solved in 5 min.

Lack of accountability from service providers drives me fucking nuts

WHy I am here justifing this to complete morons?

But Whats really funny is this fact... This fake name he uses, is so tarnished, its actually rectified and benefiting him, thats why he is still using it.. he has fooled you all.. by using an alias with an unproven phoney scam in the past, his future dealings are all debated so nothing in future can ever be tainted.. so has you all backing him.. Absolutely brilliant.. Unfortunately his service sucked so I left (haha)

Mike-al's attitude in this thread shows why anyone dealing with him would get pretty pissed off with him. The Pacific Rack guys probably went round in circles for hours before snapping back at him.

i bought there 10k gigs server wth 64bit os for just 200 bucks few days ago
and i must say that everything works very well, conection to server from theplanet, where i have my main server is super fast

i copy my data with transfer 6megs per second and my main server in the planet was fully working and serving at the same time

this is fucking great deal for only $200 i'm going buy second server today
i moved from other provider where i had 12k gigs for $500
and here i got almost the same for less than half! i'm very happy!

i pay cheap for server and this is normal that i must care myself about backups

My host does it for me, for $5 extra a month, they copy all data from my main hard disk over to a back up hard disk every night. $5 is nothing and it gives me peace of mind. Ive also found it usefull when Ive seriously fucked up some php, rather than spending hours debugging it, Ive had them restore the php script to what it was yesterday, then started my changes again. Saved me tons of time.

Being cheap is no excuse to provide failed hard disk drives.

PR customer here with not a single complaint in almost 2 years.

I personally won't deal with him. I think he's a scumbag. I've never heard any real complaints about PR but I can't deal with a company that would employ someone like Chris. His history speaks for itself.
