Serious Question
I've been in this biz for quite a while now and I have never had this happen.
A sponsor has been giving me the run around about not paying me for the past couple months or so.So I stopped promoting them. However they had the nerve to send me a a 1099-Misc form claiming they paid the money. Should I contact a treasury agent or the IRS and turn them in for fraud? My accountant says that is what I should do immediately. Just curious if any of you guys have had this happen..? |
I think this all depends on the amount owed to you. I personally would try a treasury agent before i go to the IRS....... here in Belgium IRS always looks BOTH ways :)
|
Depends really on the amount in question.
|
It depends in the amount but I would contact the IRS and maybe hire and attorney. Shady business like that make the industry look bad.
|
Sorry to hear, but yeah I would report this company. Either way its not good
|
YES!
Contact the sponsor first and let them know what you're doing. If you dont hear from them within 3 or 4 days, then go straight to the IRS; burn the f*ckers! |
As long as your hands are completely clean (there is nothing that a treasury agent or IRS could dig up on you) then let them have it after giving them 72 hours to sort it out.

Do what you have to to right the wrong!
|
I am just amazed a shady program would send you the 1099, I can not even get the fucking honest ones to send them.
