My first impession on the USA: your airports is fucking mess !
Just arrived to Miami from Los Angeles, and I must admit that local airports is seriously fucked up. I traveling a lot in my life and even in Africa and Asia one getting much faster and better service....Starting with the long lines to check in,paying 15$ to check in your bag(so 300$ ticket is not enough to cover it),after need to bring your bag to screening in TSA, some areas closed, they sending you to look for another area, more long lines for the security check, that asking you to remove shoes and shit? Buy food on the plane? Again the ticket not covering that freaking 10$ sandwich? Ahh and last but not least waiting for our bags in Miami for 45 minutes. I'm surprised and want to know, how you American taking all that shit for the airports/airlines?

LAX is possibly the worst experience possible known to mankind. Miami not much better.
I fly into San Francisco and then Fort Lauderdale. People are friendly. Things are cleaner. Works more efficiently. 2c |
I couldn't agree more. I hate traveling now. Its the biggest pain in the ass. Not even taking into consideration all of the new charges they have. 98% of the time your flight is delayed

Here is a hint... Fly into Ft Lauderdale when flying within the US. You will note there are no urine stains and chalk lines on the floor like in Miami. |

I'm with you! I can travel literally around the world, flight after flight with NO problems. Yet as soon as I step foot on American soil, everything turns into a small problem. One after another until I am begging to get on the next flight out to anywhere.
American airports are without question among the worst in the world. The staff has attitudes, security sucks and they have no idea how to process passengers. |
Miami is a horrible airport, one of the worst I've flown through in my opinion. Can't comment on LAX.
I've only been through two airports in Europe so far, Amsterdam and Frankfurt - both were rather nice - but comparable in my opinion to the nice US airports (MSP and Denver come to mind) But yeah.. security in the US is horrible. No justification there. And yes, the checked bags fee is stupid as well. I've never understood the whole drink/food service for the short (3 or less hours) flights to begin with to be honest. |
Yeah I forgot about the whole US airport-staff attitude thing... My limited EU experience does uphold the reputation that elsewhere is much better in that respect :)

LB-69, if you ever fly into O'hare in Chicago, you will see the worst airport in America. I've been to every major airport in America and O'hare is the WORST by far. Huge parts of it feel like an abandoned mental hospital with exposed construction, cinder block walls, and chipped, dull gray paint. I dare anyone to claim an airport worse than O'hare.

Ive been to JFK several times, Amsterdam, Zurich, Gatewick and Heathrow in London, some others in Eastern Europe... I liked Gatwick the best in London, and never liked huge airports tho for the first time it has some wow factors. Flight connections is what makes me sick, sometimes you have to wait hours sometimes its like you need to run to catch up. Regarding shoes, yeah, i saw Indian people taking shoes off and bending over, dude, i am a white man and take this shit honorably, they didnt ask i didnt take shoes off. I can only say since 9/11 this country has significantly changed and is rolling to shit reminding me Soviets more and more each day.

welcome to post 9/11. We are only protecting ourselves from terrorists and have not had another attack since! I guess the tight security is working :Oh crap

If your black or Hispanic you get pulled over by the cops in your car... if your even remotely middle eastern looking you get stopped at the airport... thats just how we roll :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup |

My friend is from Mumbai and he swears they stop him every time for "a random additional security screening"... I tell him to take his Indian ass to the airport four hours before his flight leaves so they have time to give him a full rectal exam... |

Flying into Heathrow isn't any better these days. The smaller UK airports are so much easier that I have taken to getting the train up to my inlaws and flying in and out of Manchester instead because it is so much easier.

and then the people of those countries are not upset and don't fly planes in your buildings win/win |

i think they took 5 people to design the ideas behind the airport (security, check in, etc). each person had their own specific part. while designing the airports, NONE of the 5 people were allowed to communicate with each other until after the airports were built... just my :2 cents: although LAX is not that bad. airlines are split up between separate terminals or 2 share 1, so you dont have less people and a little less confusion goign on |
